Welcome to this week’s Sunday School Lesson! Dr. Sam and Debi hope that you had
a good week. Do you know what special day it is? Mother’s Day! Correct! Be sure to
tell your mother, or grandmother or favorite aunt “Happy Mother’s Day” and let them
know that you love and appreciate them. At the end of today’s lesson you can learn
how to put on a puppet show, just for them!

Let’s start today’s lesson with some of the songs we have learned.

Opening prayer: Someone from your family can say a prayer. Be sure to include a
prayer for all of the mothers in your life.

Review from last week:

If you recall, last week we heard a bible story about Peter and John who went to
the Temple to pray. Do you remember what happened?

Yes. A lame man begged for money, but Peter and John said, “In the name
of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk
Do you also remember what the Jewish leaders said to Peter and John?
That’s right: don’t EVER talk about Jesus again!

Today’s lesson:

READ aloud Acts Chapter 12, 1-17. King Herod wants to kill Peter, Peter’s
Christian friends pray non-stop for him, and an angel frees Peter from prison

1. King Herod didn’t want Peter ever to talk about Jesus again, so what did he do?
