Cure to Anxiety

Narrator: Are you curious? If you are, how much? Do you ever sit beside a stranger and think
about them or talk to them? Now, I’m about to tell you a story of a girl. A girl who is unknown, a
person whom you don’t know about.
Hannah: Hi, I’m Hannah, Hannah Baker. This is my story.

[Scene 1 (in front of the Varsity)]

{Hannah & Hannah’s dad}

Hannah’s dad: Okay dear, I guess this is it. You know what, I think you are going to love this
place and hope you will find a lot of new friends.
Hannah: Yes, dad.
Hannah’s dad: Now if you allow me, I would like to go to your mom. She is all alone at the
store.
Hannah: okay dad. Bye.

[Scene 2 (canteen)]

{Justin, Marcus & Bryce}

Justin: Hay Marcus, who is that girl?
Marcus: That girl over there reading a book?
Justin: Yeah. Man! She is beautiful! I need to talk to her. Maybe you should go and bring me
her number, Marcus.
Marcus: And why would I do that for?
Bryce: I’ll let you come to my party tonight if you can do what Justin said, Marcus.
Justin: Bryce! How about asking her to come as well.
Bryce: To be honest she does kind of look good. Hahaha.
Marcus: Now that you guys said that. I just have to do it.
[Scene 3 (on the field)]

{Hannah & Courtney}

Courtney: Hannah you are the best. We are the only girls in the class. I’m really glad to have
you with me.
Hannah: Thanks, Courtney. That’s so sweet of you. I’m glad to have you with me too. After all
you are the only friend I have in this university.
Courtney: Hay, would you mind if I hold your hand?
Hannah: Sure. We are best friends right!

{From a distance}
{Tyler & Zach}
Tyler: Hay Zach, look at those two over there! I have a doubt, they are just friends. {Laughing}
Zach: Hahaha! yeah, maybe you should go and ask them what it’s all about. {Laughing}
Tyler: I feel like writing a poem about them. I’m sure it will turn out pretty good.
Zach: I’m not sure if it will be a decent one though. Hahaha!

{Hannah & Courtney}

Hannah: {feel’s shy}
Courtney: {gets upset and leaves}
Hannah: {left alone, everything keeps on going}

Narrator: You don’t know what goes on in anyone’s life but your own. And when you mess
with one part of a person’s life, you’re not messing with just that part. Unfortunately, you can’t
be that precise and selective. When you mess with one part of a person’s life, you’re messing
with their entire life. Everything… affects everything.
[Scene 4 (Hall way)]

{Clay & Tony}

Clay: Hay Tony, have you seen Hanna?
Tony: No, haven’t seen her in last few days. Maybe she is sick.
Clay: I’m afraid she isn’t, cause we used to work at a store together, but she left her job few days
ago and she didn’t even give any reason for it. We may have worked together, but I never talked
to her much. And now I’m feeling worried.
Tony: I know her dad’s store, maybe we can ask her father about it.
Clay: No, I don’t want her parents to worry.
Tony: Ok, ask me if you need any help.

[Scene 5 (in front of the lockers)]

{Hannah & Clay, Tony}

Tony: Hi, Hannah. Haven’t seen you for last few days.
Hannah: {Looks worried} Hello. I was sick. {rushes away, her diary falls}
Tony: {picks up the diary, while picking he notices a piece of paper in it}

{Clay passing by}

Tony: Clay!
Clay: Hey, Tony.
Tony: I saw Hannah Baker today. I found this dairy when she left, and this letter was in it.
Clay: {looks at the letter} It can’t be true!

Narrator: No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people.
Oftentimes, we have no clue. Yet we push it just the same.
[Scene 6 (Counselling room)]

{Mr. Porter, Hannah}

Mr. Porter: Hello, so you must be Hannah Baker. How are you? Well, if you are here something
must be wrong I guess. Tell me how I can help you.
Hannah: Mr. Porter, students of my class are making bad comments about me and they say rude
things when I’m around. Because of them, I even lost the only friend I had.
Mr. Porter: Is that all, Miss Hannah Baker?
Hannah: Do you have nothing to say about it?
Mr. Porter: I’m sure they didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. Maybe it was just a coincident.
Hannah: {Starts crying} I guess you don’t understand after all, you don’t have anything to say
after all. Do you? {rushes to the door}
Mr. Porter: Hannah wait!
Hannah: {leaves}

[Scene 7 (in front of the class)]

{Bryce, Ryan, Marcus, Zach, Tyler, Courtney, Clay, Tony}

Clay: So, you guys are here. See this letter? I see your names written here. It’s a letter of a
person who is about to give up, a person you know. Maybe we are still not too late. After all,
how often do we get a second chance?
Tony: Hannah is our classmate she was supposed to be our friend. It’s our responsibility to save
her. Let’s find her and apologize to her for everything we said and done to her. It’s never too late
if you try.
