*After reading, write: Two PERSONAL and SPECIFIC "Takeaways"

1) Personal & Specific Take away #1: A personal takeaway that I got from the reading
was the importance of ensuring that Hawaiian values, traditions, etc. are thriving and
being taught the way that it should be. For example, it talks about how Hawaiians
worked together to put together a proposal that would show different points of view
that they approved of and presented. 
2) Personal & Specific Take away #2: Another big takeaway was not only focusing on
what it’s like now as a Hawaiian, but also how it was before and truly understanding
it and how art is used to portray this. 
 

*Write a poem...inspired by the reading:

Through art, articulation of Hawaiian traditions come alive,

But much of our history is left in archive.

To Hawaiians, connecting to our ancestors,

Is like church is to pastors. 

Hawaiian was taught by an external point of view

Proposed and rewritten anew; 

In hopes of bringing new perspectives 
Ultimately leading to new incentives.
