Teaching and Learning Reflection

DATE/DAY: 24 JAN 2018 / WEDNESDAY

CLASS     : YEAR 1 AMAL

TIME         : 7.30 – 8.50 AM

SUBJECT : SCIENCE

I have taught the topic on introduction to science which pupils need to

understand science as a part of everyday life. 25/25 pupils have achieved the
objectives. None of the pupils have not achieved the objectives. Pupils can list what
they sees around the science laboratory and explain the importance of science in
everyday life.

The strengths of the lesson are pupils could relate their real-life situation into
the learning. Hence, the lesson will be more meaningful to them as they can apply it
into their daily life. Next, the use of visual-aid which is pictures and i-Think map in the
lesson helps pupils to brainstorm and create their thoughts or ideas. Their thoughts
will be more organized and it is easier for them to understand the lesson. Then,
pupils are cooperating with each other during the discussion and it is good to
enhance pupils’ communication and cooperative skills aligned with 21 st century
learning skills.

Other activities that could be carried out to help more students achieve the
learning outcome or the success criteria are I need to prepare authentic materials of
teaching resource rather than visual aids such as bring the pupils to the field or mini
park to learn and discuss about the relationship of nature and science. Next, I need
to create differentiated activities so that pupils will be more engaged and interested
to learn Science.
