Overview
o Manages the accounting with the company’s bank, help in both incoming and outgoing payment
transactions.
o Component of SAP FI module
o Automatic and Manual Bank transactions.
o Bank Reconciliation done easier with less efforts
o Payment can be made in 2 ways:
o Manual Payment
o Automatic Payment

A. Manual Payment Process


o Create Bank Account GL Master Account (FS00)
o Bank Account is an Asset
o Should be Balance Sheet
o Control Data: Not a reconciliation account
o Book Vendor Invoice (FB60)
o Outgoing Payment
o Normal (F-53)
o Advance Payment (F-48)
B. Automatic Payment Process
o APP (Automatic Payment Program) is a tool that will help users to manage payables.
o The purpose is to process payment of vendor invoices automatically.
o Understanding standard SAP banking process to be customize.

SAP, banking transactions are sub divided into SUB-Accounts.


Incoming and outgoing transactions are taken into separate sub accounts
1. Main Bank Account – Which all the reconciliation take place.
a. Main account is the actual balance as per bank statement

2. Bank Sub-Accounts: Outgoing, such as Vendor Payments (Assigned to FBZP)


3. Bank Sub-Accounts: Incoming, such as Customer Payments (Assigned to FBZP)

House Bank
o House bank with which the company maintains a bank account. House bank represents a
branch of a bank
o House Banks are the banks for your clients
o One House bank can have multiple bank accounts assigned to it.
o House bank Identify the house bank country.
o House bank ID is a number decided by you
o Main Bank account is entered in the house bank master data.

Account ID – Represents bank account number (max 18 Char.) and mapped to a G/L account

Bank Key – Bank Master Data (for bank Name, address, branch, Swift Code etc.) is stored centrally in
SAP system.
A house bank has a unique bank key. Bank Keys differ by each country’s norm.
APP (Automatic Payment Run) Configuration
o Create House Bank (FI12)

This is where you set up SWIFT code: Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications.
This is used to identify banks in international transactions and to be provided by the bank.

o Create 3 Bank GL Account (FS00)


Bank Account is an Asset, should be Balance Sheet, Control Data: Not a reconciliation account

o Main Bank Account GL


o Outgoing Bank Account
o Incoming Bank Account

o Maintain Payment Program (FBZP)


o All company Codes

Paying Company code is mandatory,


Tick max discount.
o Paying Company Code

Have the print of the payment advice set.


This is for the system automatically print the payment advice along with the checks made which you can use
to attached and sent to vendor for clarity.

o Payment methods in country – specifies and list all the possible general payment method per country
Note: Document type and clearing document type should be identified.

o Payment methods per Company code – to make specifications for the payment type. It allows further control
how payment method works in the system. Supposed Japan is the country and I have multiple company
codes on that country, I can control the payment method allowed per company code in a specific country.

See that suspense account were mapped properly from FBZP configuration in bank determination.
