PROFESSIONAL PROFILE My goal is to gain a position as a secondary school Spanish instructor. I strongly believe
all students should learn a second language because it expands their cultural awareness, broadens their thinking, and opens
up job opportunities. I want to share my personal experience growing up as a Spanish speaker in a Latin culture as well as
my academic knowledge and training in Spanish. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Assists Spanish-speaking students in classrooms by taking notes and translating lectures. Helps with assignments.
Reinforces school rules, supervises tests, and prepares materials.
Assists Spanish-speaking student interactions with counselors, social workers, nurses, administrators, and faculty.
Provides information on activities and resources.
Facilitates parent-teacher communication. Translates for conferences, phone calls, and letters.
Provided translation services for school administrators, teachers, students, and parents.
Assisted Spanish-speaking students to participate in classrooms activities.
Represented the part-time ESL teacher when she was not on site due to duties at other schools.
Performed substitute teacher duties for kindergarten through grade 12. Subject areas included math, science,
English, and Spanish. This experience developed an interest in teaching.
