Advanced Biology Genetic Variation Post-Lab Questions

Question 1:

There was a lot of variation in the drawings of the offspring of the class.

Question 2:

The amount of variation is not surprising because they were randomly chosen by flipping a coin. The different traits
combined will create very different results.

Question 3:

The coin toss represented some factors in actual genetic variation because it was completely randomized and unaffected
by us.

Question 4:

The coin toss did not represent factors in actual genetic variation because it assumed that all humans are heterozygous. It
was also chosen with a 50/50 chance, where actual genetic variation depends on the amounts of traits and the genes of the
parents.

Question 5:

This lab failed to take the vast number of possible traits that an offspring can have into consideration, because it only had
two different options. Also, it did not take into account homozygous parents.
