How, and to what extent will new online publishing models reflected by Xlibis impact

on traditional book publishing and retailing businesses?

Book authors typically depend on their publisher to produce and market their creations and on
bookstores, libraries, and other retail outlets to make these available to their target audiences. But
we live in the 21st century and this is the century of technologies so that means that more and more
attempts are made to make everything more accessible and Xlibris is an example of this. Xlibris is
described as the best online publisher and maybe more and more people will use it because you just
click on the ‘order’ button for a book and no longer the publisher need to print tens of thousands of
the book to be profitable. Online books save money and also time because in this way the consumer
does not have to go to the bookshop every time he wants a book and also on the internet he has
more access. Another advantage is that people can use their devices because device takes a whole
lot of weight off their shoulders. Also, online books are more convenient for use. In this way, the
traditional book loses its meaning and the bookshops lose their clients because if we have to be
honest, multimedia is killing off traditional bookstores.
