Lesson Overview/Rationale In this lesson students will be working in groups of 3-4, they
will be learning about the history of Michigan by doing
research and together creating a PowerPoint.
This activity is important because it will give the student the
knowledge of how Michigan was created in the past. Also, it
will help them improve with their communication skills by
working together.

Learning Objectives At the end of this lesson students should be able to:

 Communicate with group members
 Create a PowerPoint
Technology Uses Students will be using:
 Computers for the research and PowerPoint
 Either google slides or Microsoft office for the
PowerPoint.

Materials For materials students will using or bringing


♦ Group brainstorming notes to identify if they all
worked together.
♦ Computers for the research and to the PowerPoint.
♦ Any notes or worksheets related to History of
Michigan
Procedure 1) Teacher will explain to the students what the
activity is about.
2) The students will get into groups of 3-4
3) Each student from each group will be assigned a job
such as researcher, writer, and person who will
create the prestation.
4) When they will send it to the teacher to be graded
5) Bonus for the groups that want to present their
PowerPoints in front of the class.

Assessment
Students will work put together their work and create a
PowerPoint, showing everything, they learned during their
research.

In this assignment students will be placed in groups and together they will be learning
about Michigan's history by researching and taking notes, at the end together they will
create a powerpoint and be graded as a whole group.
