Exercise instructions
Put the words in brackets into the correct form to make third
conditional sentences.

1If I (pass) had passed my driving test last month, I would have bought a car straight away.
2If I (complain) had complained in the shop, they might have given me a discount.
3The job (be done) would have been done much faster if there'd been more people helping. As it
was, it took us forever.
4If the job (not/take) had not taken so long, we would've had more time to do other things.

THIRD CONDITIONAL
 Write each of the two sentences below as one sentence. Use the Third Conditional
with “had” (or “hadn’t”) + “wouldn’t have”.
EJEMPLO:
1. Sam didn’t get up early. He was late for work.
If Sam had gotten up early, he wouldn´t have been late for work.

2. We didn’t bring our umbrellas. We got wet.


If we had brought our umbrellas, we wouldn’t have gotten wet.
