When the Lord

transfers/transforms the
Israelites to holiness, he
does not instantly make
them morally perfect.
Israel’s sanctification
operated between the
extremes of instant
perfection and apostasy.
GOD’S VISION OF THE EXODUS
• You have seen what I did to the Egyptians,
and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and
brought you to myself. (Exod 19:4-6).
 Exodus makes it clear
that God, not a place,
was the destination of the liberated people.”
