1. What is the metallic melt?

Metallic melt is liquid substance which consist of metal and alloys.
2. What is the molten slag?
Molten slag is mainly consist of oxides in metallurgical raw materials or oxides
generated in the metallurgical process.
3. Please state the common source of slag components.
The common source of slag components is:
a. Gangue in ore or concentrate,
b. A flux added to meet the requirements of the smelting process,
c. Oxidation products of metals or compounds( such as sulfides) during smelting,
d. Lining material eroded and scoured down by molten metal or slag.
4. What is the main function and classification slag?
There are four categories or classification of slag:
a. Smelting slag which main function is to collecting all gangue components, ash,
and most impurities in the furance burden (ore or concentrate, fuel, flux, etc.),
in order to separate it from the main smelting products (metals, mattes, etc.).
b. Refined slag (oxidized slag) which main function is to capture the oxidation
products of impurities in the crude metal and separate them from the main
metal.
c. Enrichment slag which main function is to concentrate some useful ingredients
in the raw material into the slag, so that they can be recycled in subsequent
processes.
d. Synthetic slag which main function is to be fused in advance according to
certain components for the purpose of smelting.
5. What is the molten salt?
Molten salt is a molten liquid of salt, usually an inorganic salt (usually composed
of halides, carbonates, nitrates, and phosphates of alkali or alkaline earth metals)
and generally contains no water and has many properties different from that of
aqueous solution.
6. The applications of molten salt.
Molten salt is mainly used in the electrolytic production and refining of metals
and their alloys. And it also used in the electrolytic extraction or refining of
aluminum, magnesium, sodium, lithium and other light metals and rare earth
metals.
7. What is the molten matte and its properties.
Molten matte is eutectic of various metallic sulfides (FeS, Cu2S, Ni3S2, CoS, etc)
and the properties of mattes have important effects on the separation of valuable
metals from impurities and the energy consumption of smelting process.
