Q1(a). List 2 analytics tools, besides the Hadoop Ecosystem, that the industry is now using and that are
open source.
Ans.
1. Apache Flink: It is an open-source stream processing Big data tool. It is distributed, high-
performing, always-available, and accurate data streaming applications.
Features:

 Provides results that are accurate, even for out-of-order or late-arriving data.
 It is stateful and fault-tolerant and can recover from failures.
 It can perform at a large scale, running on thousands of nodes.
 Has good throughput and latency characteristics.
 This big data tool supports stream processing and windowing with event time semantics.
 It supports flexible windowing based on time, count, or sessions to data-driven windows.
 It supports a wide range of connectors to third-party systems for data sources and sinks.

2. Storm is a free and open source big data computation system. It offers distributed real-time,
fault-tolerant processing system. With real-time computation capabilities.
Features:
 It benchmarked as processing one million 100-byte messages per second per node.
 It uses parallel calculations that run across a cluster of machines.
 It will automatically restart in case a node die. The worker will be restarted on another node.
 Storm guarantees that each unit of data will be processed at least once or exactly once.
 Once deployed Storm is surely easiest tool for Bigdata analysis.

Q1(b). Will you classify the grades that you get in your marksheet under descriptive analytics? Give
reasons for your answer.
Ans.
YES, the grades can be classified into the descriptive analytics as Descriptive analytics is a preliminary
stage of data that yield useful information and possibly prepare the data for further analysis.

 It is also helpful in the comparative analysis of the performance of the students in the class. For
example, higher grades reflect the higher degree of performance and efforts and position/Rank
in the class. The grade in the mark sheet has made studies easier in many ways. Those who want
to score higher can divide the effort per task and achieve the overall targeted grade easily and
those who only want to pass can simply make lesser efforts to achieve passing grade.

 Apart from, these grades mentioned in the result also gives the picture of the areas to be
improved and what steps should be taken to enhance the performance of the students and fulfil
the loopholes of the students’ efforts. And students can easily know about their lacking abilities
through the assigned grades and work on them to improve overall performance.
