Challenges during education create sources of stress for students, and put their health at risk, in a

way that affects their learning abilities (Khalatbari & Azizzadeh, 2012). Therefore, paying attention
to the factors that could have a positive impact on the agreeableness and could increase the
positive psychological states, and as a result, the physical and psychological health of the
students was of great importance.
Among the important factors that affect people’s ability to adapt to the stresses of studying era is
academic vitality (Purabdul, et al., 2015) vitality means an adaptive response to various challenges
and barriers experienced during education (Dehqanizadeh & Hosseinchari, 2012). When a person
does things spontaneously, does not feel not only frustrated and tired, but also constantly feels
the strength and increased energy, and overall has a sense of inner vitality (Purabdul, et al.,
2015).Therefore, the academic life has a relationship with the individual’s adaptation to the
various situations of the academic period, feelings of self-efficacy and empowerment in the face
of challenges, experiencing less anxiety and depression, a sense of responsibility in dealing with
the academic tasks and better academic success (Dehqanizadeh & Hosseinchari, 2012). Despite the
high importance of academic vitality in the successful confrontation with the challenging
academic period, the literature review of the studies managed in Iran showed that few studies
were performed on the factors promoting this important variable. Therefore, an attempt to
address this research gap increased the need for the current study.

Stress is a part of day-to-day living. In our daily lives, we are often exposed to situations that produce
stress. If our stress level is too high, it can result in serious medical and social problems. (Lahey, 2004,
p.500). Therefore, paying attention to the factors that could increase our positive psychological states
was of great importance. Stress management is problem-solving effort made by an individual faced with
demands that are highly relevant to his welfare but taxing his adaptive resources (Cohen &
Lazarus,1979). Adaptive resources involve coping methods that people exhibit in order to be habituated
with stress. Stress management entails setting up roadblocks so that the progression to the illness or
disease level does not occur. They concluded that if we could eliminate or block all potentially
distressing life situations, the journey towards illness or disease levels would never begin (Okafor &
Okafor 1998).
A big part of stress response begins in the mind. It is the mind that helps us calm down and regain our
composure (Perera, 2014). While you may not control the stress entering your life, you can control how
you react to stress. Choose to reach to your stress in a positive manner and you will achieve positive
results (Kassem, 2014). Being emotionally oriented helps the person overcome stress by giving a
different color to the experience that caused stress (Chong, 2003). The trick, of course, is having the
willingness to let go of the things that stress you out and let someone else take care of it for you
(McTigue, 2006). The healthy behaviors, such as good nutrition and exercise, might help strengthen
individuals’ resistance to stress (O’ Connor, 2005).
