My Cousin Vinny

1992

The movie “My Cousin Vinny” is American legal comedy drama happens when
two college-bound New York boys are mistakenly arrested for murder in a small
Alabama town, Vinny (Joe Pesci), who is a cousin of one of the boys and who has
recently passed the bar after six tries, is called to the rescue. Vinny and his fiancee,
Mona Lisa (Marisa Tomei), street-savvy Italians from the big city, arrive to take on the
town's earnest legal establishment and the serious circumstantial evidence against the
young men. It's a ferocious battle between Eastern street smarts and Southern
propriety. The two cultures meet head on clashes with both boys' freedom at stake.

I really love how every situation goes to happen. It is sometime the event very
unpredictable and the dialogue is great, funny and very spontaneous. Joe Pesci who
portrayed as Vinny Gambini did his great part in the movie, as I am watching it, he acted
his part as very natural, seems like you are in the very event or situation seeing the real
thing happening before your eyes. Gambini taught us even one who is inexperience to
something, must always not be back down but use every what opportunity comes as a
establishing part of oneself.

Also what most enticing part which the situation makes a curve was when Vinny
starts to discredit the credibility of every witnesses. He makes it very lightly as it be
easily understood. As his way of discrediting every witnesses is very helpful for law
students to think critical in a situation that it needs and to see every possible way that
would be at least helpful and fit in accordance with the degree.

Gambini who is so inexperienced and doesn't even know enough to stand when
the judge enters the courtroom, which lead to Stan, one of the accused, in desperation,
hires another lawyer, thought of that if Gambini continues to be their counsel and
continues to act the way he is doing; like annoying the judge for improper decorum and
always in contempt, then the justice would just simply slip through their hands and
eventually serve the sentenced for the crime that they have not committed. This scene
is what makes me thought of, of how important a lawyer to be competent in this field,
because a lawyer handles the duty to save life and freedom who at stake.

There goes a saying by Martin Luther King that; “ Our lives begin to end, the day
we become silent of the things that matter” relating to a legal situation, that a client's life
started falling when his lawyer do nothing.
