Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

Inventory system deals primarily with determining all the placement of the
materials within the location of the supply. It is also required the importance of
forecasting the required inventory, availability of physical space, shortage of materials.
One factor in this study is that can instantly track and update the information about the
tools or equipment.

One of these effective systems and commonly used in medium sized to large
scale merchandising business is the computerized sales and inventory system. An
inventory is the stock of items used in an organization. Inventory systems, monitor the
level of inventory of a raw material works in development or final products for various
reasons, including unpredictable raw materials delivery time, allowing for production
scheduling flexibility or demand variations. Today, implementation of such system us
ideal whether the business is large or small, publicly owned or privately owned, to
speed up their process in providing quality, fast and accurate services to the customers
to meet the increasing volume of transactions and demand which may result to success
of the business. Many early adopters also embraced spreadsheet applications and built
their own bespoke inventory control systems. This positive impact of technology on
business has changed the business industry and becoming competitive than before.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Now a day they cannot imagine their life without computer. In a business
environment, even small and mid-sized business have come to rely on computerized
inventory management system. Certainly, there are plenty of small retail outlets,
manufacturers and other business that continue to rely on manual means of inventory
tracking. Indeed for some small business like convenience stores, shoe stores or
nurseries. Purchase of an electronic inventory tracking system might constitute a
wasteful use of financial resources. But for other firms operating in industries that
feature high volume turnover of raw materials and/or finished products, computerized
tracking system have emerged as a key component of business strategies aimed at
increasing productivity and maintaining competitiveness. Moreover, the recent
development of powerful computer programs capable of addressing a wide variety of
record keeping needs including inventory management in one integrated system have
also contributed to the growing popularity of electronic inventory control options.

Inventory means physical stock of goods, which is kept in hands for smooth and
efficient running of future affairs of an organization at the minimum cost of funds
blocked in inventories. The fundamental reason for carrying inventory is that it is
physically impossible and economically impractical for each stock item to arrive exactly
where it is needed exactly when it is needed.

Companies that plan to use an automated inventory system need to have automated
inventory system to save and validate their data and check the number reported by the
system but a select hand count or manual counting may be also necessary to ensure
the integrity of the system and to avoid missing data.
GENERAL PROBLEM

This study aimed to determine the computerized inventory system of IT

department in global tech solution. Specifically, it will seek to answer the following
problems:

Manual inventory has a security and minor errors issue, usually manual
inventory can be easily lost, it is prone to be destroyed and files may be taken out of
place handwriting of employees is also a problem the administrator cannot read
accurately and correctly. It will also take a hard time counting some equipment’s every
day.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this project is to develop a system that provides security,
error-tree and trusted electronic voting system.

HYPOTHESIS

Based on the problems and objectives of this study, the following hypothesis is
formulated for this research.

There is no significant relationship between low productivity and poor inventories

management.

There is a significant relationship between low productivity and poor inventories

management.

There is no significant relationship between proper inventory policies and

productivity in a manufacturing company.

There is a significant relationship between proper inventory policies and

productivity in a manufacturing company.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The researcher aims to determine the computerized inventory system of IT

department for the users or the system. The respondents will be the employees of legal
age in the company with the estimated number of sample size is 30 by the user of
solving formula.

The inventory system was focus only in their company, on IT related tools and
equipment for computer maintenance in their particular departments. The system has
only have save, edit, update, total, delete, main menu, back, login button and including
search box.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The computerized inventory management system are the one who help users to
make the work faster , it helps to prevent the stock outs, managing locations and finalize
the record keeping. This computer inventory system makes all process to be easier than
trying to do it manually.
