Analysis of the story using IMPRESSIONISTIC APPROACH

To write a story with great impacts to the readers is rare to happened; however, an amazing

briliant Sarrah Dessen just made it. She brings to the readers some of her lovable thought-

provoking words. Her adept in literature was shown in her works and one of it is the "The Truth

About Forever" in which she'd used a mind-blowing plot that greatly affect the emotions of the

reader.
This is the first story I've read by this author. Admittedly, it started a little slow. I know it was

a YA book, as what my instructor said and was concerned it might be too simplistic. I was very

wrong. Though the two main characters are teenagers, their dialogue is real and raw. Their

friendship is based on truth and trust, and their feelings are human on all levels, regardless of age.

The book addresses the true struggle with grief, sadness, insecurity and control.
The story which entitled The Truth About Forever by Sarrah Dessen was about a young girl

who was really affected by the sudden death of her father. She hardly or couldn't accept the

incidents. Well, it is in reality that you felt so broken if one of your love ones pass away. And the

thing is, the author wants us to realize that it is normal to felt in pain, it made us to be human. But

it's not okay to live with it forever. It'll ruin our whole system. So we need and we should move

forward.
On the other hand, though the story was long but it was never boring. And I enjoyed reading

it, which I found myself being touched and felt the emotions in each characters. It was really a

good work, a good peice. The emotions are there. And it shows how a person felt when your love

ones will die, and how you will cope up from it. It was a piece of freeing yourself from those

things that will bring no good to yourself.
