GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. This examination consists of multiple-choice questions which are to be answered by CLEARLY

marking your choice of answer in the appropriate circle on the answer sheet. There is only one
correct answer for each question. Enter either one answer or leave a blank for each question. If you wish
to change an answer, erase your first answer completely. Your final choice of answer must be clearly
marked on the answer sheet and circled on the question sheet, and correspond to work in the answer
book. Guesses must also be justified in the answer book.

2. On the top of this sheet, and the answer book, print your name and number in the space provided.

3. On the answer sheet, fill in your name and your student number. If this is not done correctly, your
answers cannot be marked. Fill in the appropriate circles.

SIGNIFICANT FIGURES: The answers are usually rounded off to three sig figs.

MARKING SYSTEM
Questions may have different values as shown in the left column. A wrong answer receives 0
marks. No negative mark is given.

EXAMPLE
Suppose question number 75 were: What is the unit of charge in SI units?
(a) volt (b) coulomb (c) farad (d) sec (e) gram
The right answer is coulomb. So the circle with B above it would be filled in.
