Title of Project: Movie Night!!

Title of Research Paper: There is No Plan Bee: Alternative Pollination Methods and the Harmful Effects
on Honeybees.

Synopsis of Research Paper:

This paper introduces and explains the current issue of the declining honeybee population, and links it to
the same trend with pollinating species as a whole. This is accomplished through defining key actions
taken in the environmental science community including an explanation of the current pesticide issue
going on worldwide and the recently discovered “Colony collapse Disorder” that is being noted
internationally. The author furthers his research in the problem of declining populations by providing
examples of steps taken in major environmentally active nations. The author further pushes the concept of
the paper to the Alternative Pollination Methods currently being researched worldwide. Additionally, the
author analyzes the benefits and setbacks to these alternatives and the methods of investigating them.
Finally, the author provides a solution that’s been highlighted throughout the paper.

Project Description:
A movie night with trivia and fun facts!

Relationship between Project and Paper:

I was able to incorporate facts and statistics from my paper into the movie using the chat log feature.

My background experience in the area:

I have written several essays and articles on the topic both in and out of school, and even chose it as my
topic for a summer internship with the Virginian-Pilot where I hosted interviews and was able to have my
work edited by journalists in the area.

Special things I’d like judges to consider and look for:

I would like the judges to see and appreciate the passion I have for this topic, I have constantly attempted
to raise awareness for this issue for years and am so happy that I got to make it the project for my senior
project.
