Q: What can be the causes and effects of war? Why is that without justice there can never be true
peace?

War is an absolutely devastating and destructive social issue. It gives no benefit of any form to
its participants; it only even causes more problems to the state, to the economy, to society and to the
world itself. Wars can be officially declared by the state, but the causes of wars stretch far from the
government alone. Wars can be caused by conflict among tribes, gangs and other small social groups. It
may start off because of a territory dispute, or death among the groups’ members. Wars between
countries and within countries often have the same reasons for starting a war, but the damage it causes
is definitely much greater. The effects of war are irreversible, with numbers of resources lost are often
counted in millions. Millions of people die because of war, millions of dollars are spent on military
equipment and millions of hectares of land are destroyed during WWII alone. Everything is destroyed
during a war, and no one actually wins them. As WWII ended, the people have realized how catastrophic
the war has become. Since then, the people have tried to attain peace. But until now, true peace is not
real. Without justice, there can never be true peace, because justice means closure for the oppressed
and punishment for the oppressors. It creates an atmosphere of protection. To uphold what is due and
what is just helps the society move forward to achieve the common good. Only with justice can there
ever be true peace.
