Fall is a time of giving and that is what Loveworks Leadership Inc., a local non-profit
organization, is all about. This upcoming weekend, Loveworks is hosting their annual Box City
Event to benefit and bring awareness to homelessness in Norman.

NORMAN, Okla. Oct. 25, 2019-Today and tomorrow Loveworks Leadership Inc. will be
holding its annual Box City Event. The event will be held on Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the
following morning in the Journey Church parking lot. The main focus of Box City event is
bringing awareness to homelessness in Norman, Okla. Volunteers and students from Loveworks
Leadership Inc. make this event possible by fundraising and organizing for this event every fall.
This year’s attendants should expect dancing, music, food, a cardboard box spray paint
Students from Loveworks are encouraged to remove themselves from their daily routine
and put themselves in the shoes of a homeless child. Each student is asked to bring a cardboard
box, pillow and blanket for their sleeping situation for this evening. The event consists of
activities and food create to bring awareness but also provide the students with a pleasant
experience. Loveworks aims to call these students into action to make a difference.
Graci Fayak a student at the University of Oklahoma and current volunteer at Loveworks,

attended the event last year and spoke about her experience,
“Box City brings together the students and volunteers at Loveworks and helps the
students feel empowered to make a difference in the world.” Alongside Fayak are
countless volunteers who are inspired by Loveworks’ movement. The creator and executive
director of Loveworks, Michael Hirsh emphasizes the pride he feels towards his students
participating in the Box City Event. Hirsh states, “You are never too young to do big things.”
About Loveworks
Loveworks Leadership Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 2011. The organization offers
afterschool programs to students ages 11 to 14. Loveworks helps children strengthen and utilize
their gifts and talents in preparation for the future. Loveworks is made possible through
volunteers, a governing board, donations, teachers and parents. The organization strives to the
positive impact in a student’s life, that they might not otherwise had or knew they needed.
