Spur gear
Teeth: They are responsible for bringing power from the driving shaft to the driven
shaft. During its manufacture and design, a defined characteristic profile is taken into
account.

Circumferences: There are three: the primitive, in charge of engaging all the teeth; the
interior is that which is located at the base of the teeth; and the outer circumference,
which is the one that limits the outer part of the gear.

2. Explain what type of movement you do

Spur gears are used in slow movements. They have teeth mounted on parallel axes,
which allows it to be useful when looking to transfer movement from one axis to
another.
In addition to being very reliable, spur gears stand out because they do not produce
axial thrust, precisely because they have teeth parallel to their axis.
The spur gears transfer movement from one axis to another that is close and parallel.
The lubrication and the type of oil in this type of gear is very important since the contact
between faces is greater than a helical gear.

Helical gear
A worm gear can be thought of as a common spur gear machined on thin plate
equipment where each one has rotated slightly relative to its neighbors (Figure below).
The helical teeth enter the coupling zone progressively and, therefore, have a
smoother action than the teeth of the spur gears.
The gears are made up of two toothed wheels, of which the largest is called the crown
and the smallest pinion. A gear is used to transmit circular motion through the contact
of toothed wheels.

Spike equipment
A gear pin, also called a double worm gear, is a special type of gear that is a
combination of two opposing double helical gears. From above, the helical grooves of
the gear describe a V-shape. Unlike simple helical gears, they do not produce an axial
load.

Like helical gears, they have the advantage of transmitting energy smoothly because
the gear teeth engage and disengage simultaneously. Its advantage over helical gears
is that the lateral thrust of one half is offset by that of the other half. This means that
the gear pins can be used in gearboxes without the need for substantial thrust.
Because of this, the gear pins were an important step in the introduction of steam
turbines for underwater propulsion.

A gear is used to transmit circular motion through the contact of toothed wheels.

Rack and pinion

It is a mechanism made up of a pinion or toothed wheel with straight teeth, which
meshes with a toothed bar called a rack so that, when the pinion rotates, the toothed
bar moves longitudinally

In order for the gear to be possible and the pinion to slide on the rack, both rack and
pinion must have the same module.

This type of mechanism is reversible. In other words, it can work by applying a

rotational movement to the pinion that is transmitted to the rack by moving them
linearly, or vice versa, if alternative linear movements are administered to the rack,
these become rotary movements in the pinion.

Column drills, corkscrews, are used in the opening and closing of doors on guides,
and in the directions of automobiles.

Bevel gear
Gears or racks are devices formed by toothed wheels that serve to transfer mechanical
power between two elements. They are commonly used in machines that are used in
many industrial processes, such as production lines and automotive systems, but also
in sectors as diverse as mining, aeronautics, the pharmaceutical or textile industries.
The needs for which they are manufactured are those that determine the design of the
gears (bevel gears, spur gears, helical gears) and also their materials.

This type of gear is used to transmit a movement between axes that intersect in the
same plane. Therefore, they reduce the speed an axis reaches to 90 degrees.
They are commonly used in rear axle transmissions for motor vehicles and stand out
because they hardly generate any sound.

Worm wheel and worm

Worm gears are a special type of gear with a unique design. There is a worm wheel,
which closely resembles a stimulus of the "traditional" gear and the worm gear
component, consisting of a spiral that is driven forward by the wheel. This produces a
displacement action with low speed output and high torque, making the worm gear
somewhat inefficient, but highly specialized for certain tasks. These are just a few
examples of worm gear applications are effective options: -

1) Low noise applications. Worm gears are remarkably quiet, making them ideal where
noise is an issue. Conversely, spur gears and other gears tend to emit high-pitched
whines and other noises, especially at high speeds. Worm gears are frequently used
in public places, such as airports and theaters.
2) Quick stop. When quick stop is a must, worm gear works well thanks to its unique
design. For example, worm gears are used in elevators. They are not used as a single
braking system, as they do not have the energy or reliability to do well, but they work
as part of a complete braking system.

3) Worm Gears can also be used efficiently where there is not much space available,
thanks to its compact design and minimal need for space. For example, it can be used
on conveyor lines and other small pieces of equipment.

4) Thanks to the gears in an established ordinary gear made of different metals, it can
more easily absorb shock loads.
This makes them ideal for use on some construction equipment, and other materials
that often deal with heavy loads.

The worm gear is a gear screw transmission, the movement of which is carried out
according to the principle of a pair of screws. Worm Gears is used to transmit rotational
motion between the shafts, where the axis intersection angle is usually 90 degrees.

The geometric parameters of helical gears are the same as in cylindrical gearsahh In
most cases, the cable is a worm, i.e. short keystone screw or thread near it.
