6.

1 Conclusions:

1. According to the standards of FAO (1997), Kufa River is considered


acceptable to be used in irrigation.
2. Based on (SAR) classification, the test results showed that there is no
harmful effects from sodium on plants.
3. Based on WQI values, the results indicated that the water quality of
Kufa River is generally "Good quality for irrigation" and the monthly
mean of WQI is good for irrigation water.
4. The water quality index is effective tool to assessment and
management the water resources to take the appropriate decision
from the decision-makers.

6.2 Recommendations:
1. Directing the Ministry of Water Resources to develop And construct of
treatment plants for large drainpipes With the need to develop a program
to monitor the quality of water in the agricultural broiler.

2. Development of water quality monitoring program in water sources.


The sources of pollution are different and do not have a specific time. It is
necessary to set up monitoring stations on the water sources
continuously to monitor the chemical and organic variables in the water.

3. Legislating of special laws of standard speifications for the quality of


irrigation water in Iraq.
