Field Report

General Information:
 Fraser Public schools
 Richards Middle School & Edison Elementary School
 Mentor: Kristen Robinson, Asst Principal- Richards Middle School

Brief Description of Duties of Administrative Mentor:

At the beginning of this field experience, I was employed as the Coordinator of Student
Services at Richards Middle School in Fraser, MI. I worked closely with both the principal
and the assistant principal, Kristen Robinson. I selected Kristin Robinson to be my mentor,
initially, because I wanted to shadow her the first year and learn how she handled student
discipline. My original plan was to switch to the mentorship to my principal, Huston Julian,
the second year in order to gain a wider perspective of building level administration.
However, halfway through my first year in the program, I took on a new role in my district-
Principal of Edison Elementary School in Fraser, MI. I decided, for consistency sake, to
keep Ms. Robinson as my mentor throughout the program.

Her mentorship duties included guidance in the following areas:

 Student discipline issues
 Staff Relations
 Curriculum Rollout
 District Provided Professional Development
 Teacher evaluation
 Building level communication
