Dear Mr. Miner:
I am applying for a position with your school as a secondary history or
government teacher. Enclosed is a copy of my resume. As a former student
at Bradshaw Mountain High School, I developed a passion to become a
teacher, a passion that I have been fulfilling as a teacher candidate enrolled
in Arizona State Universitys Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. During my
experience at Bradshaw Mountain High School, I was overwhelmed by the
pedagogy displayed by my mentors. Through my years of university
education, I have had a goal to return to my home town with the skills in
education that I have earned through a rich teacher candidate experience.
What I will bring to Bradshaw Mountain High School is the experience of a
full year teacher at Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Though I have
had many specialized classes involving such matters as history content and
dealing with differentiated learners, my best offer to your school is a tried
and true teacher. During my year at Central High School I have developed
daily lessons plans, sub-plans, all of which have involved modifications for
differentiated learners, as well as utilized technology, and engaged
students. My mentors, colleagues and students all have acknowledged my
skills in classroom management and my rapport with students, something
that was not taught nor provided to me, but something I earned. I offer a
classroom that engages and challenges and that will provide success for the
students at Bradshaw Mountain High School.
I am currently in the position as a student teacher, and scheduled to take
my certification tests in the coming week. I am available to meet at any
