To Whom It May Concern:

I am interested in the Youth and Family Worker. Over the past 9 months I’ve had the honor of working at
Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance as a CADI/BI Case Manager. Through this job I have gained a lot of
experience which I believe will be beneficial to my work in this position. I was able to gain knowledge
and experience with working with individuals who are going through trauma, collaborating with client’s
family and team, and navigating and applying community resources to best meet client needs. Being
organized and documenting my responsibilities, I tracked things such as client’s behavior, goals, and
education development. This job gave me a balance on working independently while also working in a
team. Through training I became first aid certified and CPR certified. As a Youth and Family Worker, I
would have similar responsibilities that people will rely on me for.

I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in Family
Social Science. Through my education and knowledge base, I believe that I have the skills and
experiences to be the ideal candidate for the position of a Youth and Family Worker. As aYouth Program
Assistant, I have developed strong leadership skills, personal and professional growth. Interacting with
youth daily allowed me to develop my people skills and allowed me to handle a variety of situations
similar to those I could possibly encounter in this position. My job as a Youth Program Assistant also
enabled me to work with people of diverse backgrounds. I believe that this position will allow me to use
the experiences and skills from past positions, gain more knowledge, and improve on the skills I already
have.

My life experiences also make me an ideal candidate for this position. Growing up in Milwaukee, WI, my
family went through hard times. Being the oldest, at the age of 13, I had to help my mother raise my 2
brothers and 1 sister. There were days I thought that I would never get out of that city and break the cycle
of my family. I can relate to a lot of people’s stories and backgrounds. I am one of the first in my family
to graduate college and I thank my past for pushing me to do so. The challenges I dealt with in my
personal life have prepared me to deal with the challenges I might face in this position.

I am confident that my experience qualifies me for consideration. I have enclosed my resume and look
forward to meeting with you and discussing my qualifications in more detail.

Sincerely,
Latrisse White
