Based on EU recommendations, Germany has introduced travel restrictions for

entries from outside the Schengen area on 17th March 2020 and decided on 13th May
2020 to prolong these restrictions until 15th June 2020. All corresponding entries from
non-EU-citizens and citizens of non-Schengen states will be affected. Entry will be
possible for German citizens.

In line with these decisions, the visa sections of the German Embassy Islamabad and of
the German Consulate General Karachi remain closed until (provisionally) 15th June
2020 and are not accepting any new visa applications. An exception may be made if the
applicant can demonstrate the existence of compelling reasons that justify entry under

You will be informed immediately on this website when this situation changes.

If you have received an earlier appointment confirmation, the Embassy will provide an
alternate day as soon as visa operations will return to normal.
