What I Did
● Daily: Chart on patients, give medications, and give them meals
● Changed day to day: Chest tube removal, switch night shift to day shift,
patient discharge, isolation/ PPE requirements, and RQI cpr recertification
for all doctors/ nurses
Challenges
● Not very hands on
● Not allowed to take pictures of patients/ procedures
● Hard to get Erin’s and my schedule to line up
● The pharmacy room was moved into the play room
What I Learned
● New medical terms
○ Ex: Diverticulitis - An inflammation or infection in one or more small pouches in the
digestive tract
● What a chest tube is and why it is used
● Doctor/ nurse attitude
Take Away
● I don’t want to be a nurse
● I don’t want to work in a hospital
● I want to be a doctor
● I would love to work with kids
