RE 104 – CHRISTIAN MORALITY

Name: Shaina Rosewell M. Villarazo Date: May 20, 2020

Course & Year: BSMA 2 Facilitator: MS. HAZEL E. SAN GIL

1. Which among the Ten Commandments that is difficult for you to obey? Explain why.
Among the ten commandments the most difficult to obey for me is the tenth
commandment. The tenth commandment states that “You shall not covet”. Covet is to wish
for with eagerness; to desire possession of or having a strong desire.
For me, it’s not bad for wanting what we want. The only bad about it is not being
contented with what you have and it is like not being happy about the blessings that you
have that God has given you.
Wanting what you want and getting it from bad actions or decisions is sinful but
wanting what you want and getting it because of your blood, sweat and tears is a reward for
yourself and it’s not bad. Covet is not good because it may turn into hatred towards others
like what happened to Cain and Abel. So you must control your desires and reflect on what
you have become because of these desires. Is your desires making you a good and
responsible person or is it turning your heart into a heart full of hatred?

2. What is the basic good that you should do in these times of pandemic?
During this time of pandemic all the basic goods that I could do is to share or impart
knowledge about this pandemic, on how can we avoid being infected by this virus. By
posting or sharing on facebook, I could remind everyone to simply wash their hands, avoid
going out especially if it’s not necessary, avoid touching their faces, wear mask and all. We
could also give foods to the frontliners or to the needy even once in a while, just like what
we did on my father’s birthday. And lastly, during this pandemic all we could and we should
do is to pray unceasingly. Pray to the Lord every single day to end this pandemic

3. What are your significant learnings? What is God telling you about these
learnings/experiences?
When I was having a conversation with my friend he asked me on what will I do after
this pandemic. I answered that I will go straight to the Church and after that I will go to my
relatives; cousins, uncles and aunties. After I said that, I burst into tears not just because I
miss my relatives but also because I’m afraid because there is a chance that we will not see
each other anymore. I was afraid of what might happen. I was scared. But after the
conversation with my friend I suddenly realized that thinking negative thoughts and
worrying won’t help me, it will only make the situation worse. That day I told myself to stop
worrying. Then, I lifted up everything to the Lord. What will happen is destined to happen. I
submit everything to Him. After that, I felt relieved, the heavy feeling on my chest faded. All
the worries and negative thoughts were faded.
I think God is telling me to trust me with all my heart. This may sound cliche but
everything happens for a reason even if we don’t know what that reason is. If we lift up
everything to the Lord, we will find peace. We must trust the process because He will not
harm us nor forsake us.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the
Lord your God goes with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

4. Today, what does it mean to be a Christian moral person?

A Christian moral person is doing what Jesus did here on Earth.
In these times of pandemic we should be more like Christ. We should help one
another. Helping doesn’t always require money. We can help by just staying in our houses
and not to become a problem to the fronliners who just want to help us not to spread the
virus and to maintain orderliness. If we can’t help like Angel Locsin and other
philanthropists, just don’t be a problem to this society. It would be a big help for the
frontliners and for this country.
A Christian moral person is listening, doing and spreading the words of God. By
listening to the words of God we are feeding our heart and soul and we satisfy our hunger
for a happy and fulfilling life. Listening to the words of God is not enough, we should also do
it with all our heart. Through listening and doing the words of God we can experience
amazing things like satisfying our hunger for a happy and fulfilling life. We must spread the
words of God for others to experience what we’ve experienced and for them to have a
happy and fulfilling life through Christ.

5. Where are you in your relationship with God at present? (You may write a poem,
compose a song, paint or other creative way to answer this question).

“A picture of a man trying his very best to renounce his sins to be worthy of the love of Jesus Christ.”
