Caterpillar is pleased to introduce the 320D and 320D RR as the direct replacement of the 320C and 320C U.
Since the introduction of the 300 family excavators, they have become the standard of the industry for a
large variety of applications. The new 320D and 320D RR further enhance and build upon the attributes

The hydraulic system pressure has been increased on the 320D/320D RR to 35 000 kPa (5,076 psi)
from 34 300 kPa (4,975 psi), which is an increase of 2%. The increased hydraulic pressure gives
the 320D/320D RR advantages over the 320C/320C U in the following areas:

Improved Controllability
The hydraulic valve stems in the main hydraulic valve have been redesigned for the D-Series. These new
generation valve stems improve from the C-Series and offer improvements in the following areas:
• Accessible through monitor and remains active until it is deactivated by the operator
• Economy is active when the green gas tank icon is visible on the monitor

The hydraulic return filter interval has been increased from 1,000 hours to 2,000 hours for the D-Series,
primarily as an improvement in the filtration of the filter. All other maintenance intervals from the C-Series
have been maintained.

The Tool Control System on the 320D/320D RR has been enhanced to now allow for up to 10 different
tools to be pre-set and stored into the monitor. There is now also the option of choosing tool control that
