Introduction
On 17.03.2017 the sample was taken from the flare pit and from the BHA on well 123
Yefremivska and brought to the Tacrom Services laboratory in Poltava, Ukraine.
Pictured on the left is the liquid sample and on the right, a dried sample.
One of the first things that we noticed was that the dried sample displayed magnetic properties
Analyzed properties
SG = 1.000 @ 20°C ;
pH = 7;
The liquid sample was filtered and dried in order to separate the solid part. On the resulted solids, we
performed a series of solubility tests with the below mentioned acid recipe:
Water 506 l
Iron Control 20 kg
Corrosion Inhibitor 5 l
The acid recipe was mixed with the dried sample and introduced at bottom hole temperature for various amounts of time.
All the samples were weighed before mixing and after being kept at temperature.
After filtering and drying, solubility was calculated at 6.93% by comparing the initial and final
mass.
After filtering and drying, solubility was calculated at 10.62% by comparing the initial and
final mass.
After filtering and drying, solubility was calculated at 13.02% by comparing the initial and
final mass.
After filtering and drying, solubility was calculated at 13.05% by comparing the initial and
final mass.

From the above chart, we can conclude that the optimum reaction time with this recipe is 120
minutes.
After the reaction had occurred, none of the samples were attracted to the magnet.
Testing is going to be continued in our Romanian laboratory with a mud acid recipe.
