1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this engineering specification is to provide designers and vendors
with the minimum technical requirements for the purchase, design, material
construction, inspection, testing, and shipping of Low Voltage AC Adjustable
Speed Drive for use in industrial installations owned by PDVSA.
Since PDVSA has decided to adopt the PIP (Process Industry Practices)
documents: ELSMC20: “Specification for Procurement of Low Voltage AC
Adjustable Speed Drive” and ELSMC20D: “Data Sheet for Specification for
Procurement of Low Voltage AC Adjustable Speed Drive” as an integral part
of the Engineering Design Manual (MID), the requirements in this document are
additions or modifications to the ELSMC20 and the section/paragraph numbers
and the associated headings used in this document correspond to the ones used
in ELSMC20.
Requirements for special applications shall be included on the Data Sheet.
