Descriptions of Tasks:

character of your story.
b. Write a response 5-7 sentences long, from your character, replying to your letter.
2. Write a letter/email to the author of your book.
a. Your letter should be 10-13 sentences long.
b. Remember to use the correct formatting for writing a letter or an email.
c. You can ask questions or write your comments about the book.
3. Pretend you are a talk show host and interview the main character (or any other
character).
a. Write 4-6 questions to ask your character
b. Respond to the questions, as your character (2-4 sentences each)
4. Create a travel brochure for the setting of the story.
a. The brochure should look like a real one, with pictures and details about the place
5. Write a news article about an important event from the book.
a. The news article should be 10-13 sentences long
b. Make sure it is related to an event/events that happen in the book
6. Create a book jacket, including illustrations, an enticing synopsis, author biography, and
favorable reviews.
7. Make a list of new, unusual, or interesting words or phrases found in your book.
a. Your list should include 8-10 words or phrases.
b. They should be created like the vocabulary section of your reading log
8. Summarize the book into a comic or story aimed for younger students or your classmates.

9. Discuss one particular episode in the story that you remember most. Describe why you
think it remains so clear to you.
a. Choose any episode that you like. Your discussion should be 10-13 sentences.

a. The different ending should be at least 12 sentences long. It may be longer.
11. Write ten good discussion questions that might be used if the whole class were to read
the book.
12. Write a letter or email to a close friend recommending the book
a. Your letter should be 10-13 sentences long.
b. Remember to use the correct formatting for writing a letter or an email.
13. Choose two characters from the story and write a conversation they might have.
a. The conversation should have a total of 13-15 sentences.
