Conclusion

Licensing is an important part of the procedure for opening a Restaurant. It helps Restaurant
maintain health standards and also have a separate legal identity. Moreover, licensing adds to
the goodwill of the Restaurant as customers will be more attracted to a place which is safer
and holds quality. It will bring customer satisfaction. According to FSSAI officials, eateries
operating their business without FBO license will be penalized up to Rs.5 lakhs and jailed up
to six months.

According to my study licensing is important to regulate any illegal activity it might be in


any form. But in INDIA getting a license is a piece of cake. As it is easy to furnish fake
documentation to get legal certificates by bribing officials. The ground reality is, acts are
strong to get a licence but no one implements it and cross-checks the documentation or legal
certificates that establishment is legal or not.

According to the report of India Times in February 2019, Hotel owners of Arpit Palace
New Delhi forged documents for obtaining Health Trade Licence [HTL] from Public Health
Department of North Delhi Municipal Corporation,Fire Safety Certificate [NOC] from Delhi
Fire Department, licence to run the Hotel from Delhi Police Licencing Unit, Certificate for
Pest Control and other Department Licences
