Scenario 1

In secondary school I was part of a basketball team from 2011 to 2012, my team contained
another 6 members, I was working with the same people throughout the whole year; while I
was working in this team I believe we all worked effectively and cohesively and when
picking the positions there was not any disagreements, we had training on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays each session was one hour long. Our goal was to win the game
against 4 different schools. Normally we will meet up on our free time and go do some
training also after playing different schools we also have meetings that were about giving
each other feedback and mention what we could of done better and what we need to improve
for our next game. The communication within the team improved because we always gave
each other feedback and we all tried doing better the next time; when some of the team
members could not make it to training we would reschedule a new training session so no one
misses anything out and we are all at the same stage. We achieved our goal which was beat 3
of the schools and we loose to one school, me and my team worked really hard and also we
communicated very well and gave each other honest feedback that allowed us to improve our
team.

Scenario 2:

I was also part of a temporary basketball team which lasted for a day because it was a game
that they needed me to play in, the team contained 6 people that I did not know which made
things a bit awkward also we had no time to communicate which made things hard, because
no one got the chance to talk about what position they will be good at, so people went to
random positions, and we had many conflict before the game due to people not going to the
positions they wanted to be in; so then we began to play the game, everyone looked unhappy
and unmotivated, I tried to advice my team members but there was no enough time and no
one was taking it serious which made us loose the game.

In contrast I believe that in scenario 1, there was more team effort, people was more
motivated about our goal, In scenario 2 the team did not work together no one had any effort
and people were being stubborn and selfish which made us loose the game. Scenario 1
was successful because we all made the effort to try and win the game which we did. In
scenario 1 everyone stuck to their role and played it well unlike scenario 2 everyone was
unhappy with the role which made us all fail.

Scenario 3:

in 2013 I was part of a formal team during my work experience which I did for 2 weeks, I
was working in Boots. I had to wear formal clothing which was black, I had to wear black
school trousers and a black blouse and my Hijab needed to be black. During my work
experience I was working with permanent staff from Boots. My task was to speak to
customers and also help customers with their prescription, it was important that I spoke
formal English towards everyone in my work place including the members of staff. The first
day I was working with them I was really shy because the people that I was working with
were all way older than me and also they knew what they were doing whilst I did not have
any previous experience and I wasn't to sure about what I needed to do.  The people I was
working with were my team and they realised that I was feeling shy so they showed me the
pharmacy around and also showed me how I need to do things, this made me feel much
comfortable and also sure about my job; there was no conflict between me and my team due
to working together as a team and listening to each other; I really enjoyed this experience that
I would like to work permanently with them.

Scenario 4:

In year 10 I was part of an informal team which was in my science class, my team contained
5 people and we were all close friends, we had a task to do a science project and we only had
a month do complete it, the team was very ineffective because we did not do what we were
told, instead we kept ourselves busy talking about irrelevant topics such as our boyfriends,
and what we were going to do during the weekend, we did not complete our work which
made us fail; although there was no conflict or disagreements there was no commitment
about any of us doing our work.

In comparison scenario 3 completed all our task which made us reach our goal unlike
scenario 4 we did do some work but it was not enough to be able to achieve the grade this
happened because in scenario 3 I was in a work environment whereas in scenario 4 I was in a
social environment which made us all fail.

D1: Evaluate the team's overall effectiveness in meeting its objectives, making
recommendations for improvements.

In this task I will be making reasonable decisions on how our team worked well providing
supporting evidence for our team, general effectiveness in meeting the objective and making
recommendation for improvements.

Communication:

The communication within the team was very effective and we listened to each other
opinions and we all reflected in them; we both got to know each other and asked each other
questions so then we could build a bond. Our communication was very effective which
means it allowed all the team members to speak up and share their opinions, everyone felt
comfortable in the team. The fact the my team had good communication we were able to
discuss things through for example if we had a argument our communication helped us to sort
it out very quickly. If our team did not have good communication it would have lead us to be
confused and fail to produce our smoothies, but since we had good communication we were
able to understand each other and this allowed us to complete our task effectively.

Planning:

We found our planning easy but we thought we did not have enough time to do the
planning effectively, my teachers gave us straight forward instructions like start to do your
research and things like that, we started giving each other roles and then we started to think
about our product and what we will need to produce it. we made sure that everyone in the
team knew what they were supposed to do, for example their role, although we did not have
enough time we were still able to meet the deadline, if we did not plan everyones team role
we would of being confused and not knowing what to do which could of made us
look unprofessional during our smoothies sale.

Commitment:

Me and my team were very committed, which means we were all committed to meet our
goal, if we were not committed this could of cause lack of focus which means some of the
team members could of missed important points, for example if some of the team members
were not paying attention, they could of done something wrong and make the whole team
delay with our goal, however our commitment helped us to achieve our goal and also play
our roles very effectively.

Creating equity:

In our team everyone had equal opportunities, for example we both agreed on who was going
to be the team leader also we gave each other the same amount of task, and we also made
sure that we were able to cope with them. At a a point I was confused about what I needed to
do and my team leader broke it down for me which allowed me to understand it better and
then I knew what I was required to do; as a team we all shared our opinions and ideas, we
made sure no one felt left out and everyones opinions was taken in note. If we did not create
equal rights within the team this could of lead us to conflict and have many arguments and
perhaps  a member could of lost interested and left the team which could of cause great
impact within the group. Having equal rights for everyone in the team made everyone feel
involved and for example if a member knows information about smoothies, feeling equal
could of made the individual share all the information with the team.

Recommendations for improvement:

- Although we had good communication, we should of communicated more often to have

more ideas.
-I also believe that we should of used our time wisely instead of wasting it, we should of
started our task very early and all the research that we needed.
-I also think I should of had more self motivation although I was able to motivate my team
members, I was not able to motivate myself much.
-I also think we should of gave each other more feedback in order to achieve things quicker
and more effectively.
- I believe that I could of put more effort into my project and this would of lead me to get a
higher mark and also do better.
- I believe that my partner was a good leader although she needed to be more concentrated.
-Next time I do team work, I will make sure that I make my team with people who a reliable
and that will not let the team down.
- I will also concentrate more, in order to achieve things easier and quicker.
