Origins:
In 1944 JBS Group started as a manufacturer of safety & military
footwear. JBS has evolved to become a leading supplier of Safety and
Workwear products.
We hold over £3m in stock in our 6 branches across the UK and
Ireland, with 60 staff. We have a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse and trade
counter in Bridge of Don, in Aberdeen.
We have a team of 20 experienced staff, who can offer a
personalised service, with the benefits of the support systems of a
big company.

The move to the service sector was the beginning
of a process, which would take“James Boylan
Safety Ltd” from the position of new entrant
with a relatively modest turnover of £750K in
1999 to become JBS Group. JBS is now a major PPE
supplier with sales on target to exceed £20m in

JBS Group is owned and managed by Grattan Boylan and

Declan O’Donnell in their roles as Chairman and
Managing Director respectively. Grattan has been with JBS
since 1994 and Declan has been with JBS since 1986. Both
have extensive experience in all aspects of running the
business for the longterm.

It is natural that JBS is acutely atuned to green and sustainable issues – given that
our business activities cover personal safety and environmental hygiene. JBS has
shown leadership in this area, even installing natural reedbed systems. JBS is Repak
accredited meaning that we maximise the percentage of recycled waste.

IT
JBS uses a highly effective fully integrated Intact IT System.
In 2013 alone we invested a further £250,000 to keep our IT
state of the art. JBS links all branches with Head Office by
using Terminal Services over broadband. All Sales personnel
are linked by VPN technology via their laptops with 3G mobile
connections. All sales personnel have direct access to JBS, and
the CRM module in particular at any time. This real time
access is vital in maximising communication and
enhancing customer service. All of our efforts are
focussed on maximising face-to-face contact with our
customers and to do this we need to have easy and efficient
communication
with customer support staff in the various branches.

It is vital that JBS has a fully integrated software management system that allows all users to easily access and use
any data they require for the efficient and successful execution of their roles.

Today we have custom built, high bay warehousing, with narrow aisle racking and wire-guided man-up machines for

JBS Safety Audit Service
Apart from safety training, JBS also offers
on-site Safety Audit. Our experienced safety
Auditors will visit your site and complete a
Safety Audit, covering the safety hazards and
the likelihood of an accident arising. Once the
risk has been determined, they will assess the
suitability of existing PPE. Where necessary,
JBS Safety Auditors will bring in a product
expert to propose the most suitable PPE to
reduce the risk.

receive field training from our suppliers. We
also have in-house, spacious, dedicated

and staff in relation to new product

the customer’s requirements and any existing legislation. This allows customers full flexibility for their specific

the more complicated multihead embroidery of logos onto garments. By doing heat seal logos in-house in Bridge of
Don we save time for customers.
