CAPACITANCE

Capacitance is the term that refers to the ability of a capacitor to store charge. It’s also the
measurement used to indicate how much energy a particular capacitor can store. The more
capacitance a capacitor has, the more charge it can store. Capacitance is the ratio of the change
in an electric charge in a system to the corresponding change in its electric potential.

UNIT OF MEASUREMENT OF CAPACITANCE

Capacitance is measured in Farads, which is name after Michael Faraday (1791-1867).
The symbol for Farads is F.

C is the capacitance in farads,

Q is the quantity of stored electrical charge in coulombs,
V is the difference in potential in volts.
