INTRODUCTION
Covid-19, the deadly virus that originated from China and has spread across the globe, has
invaded our country India also. It has already claimed more than 1700 lives till now and more
than 50000 citizens are already infected and the numbers are now increasing rapidly. India’s
economy is declining rapidly and the entire nation is suffering a lot. Our Governments, both
Central and State, are working at its best to control the situation. Despite these stressful times,
the government and the citizens are working hard to bring everything back to normal. This
Covid-19 has put the world in lockdown and each and every country is dealing with it by its own
means.

Summary module 1:
Environment refers to the surroundings in which we all reside including other living creatures
which exist and climate related to the weather conditions in a particular area. The development
of any pandemic would drastically change these two terms in that area as it would affect the
lifestyle of people living. Coronavirus has affected this whole environment terribly and even
positively in some aspects.

The main domains which are affected highly are; the constitution and civilization(rules and
regulations can help into getting control of people for their own good), biology and
life(coronavirus is an infectious disease and this domain has a lot to infer from vaccinations to
immunity of a person), material and data science(this includes statistics, materials used during
such times and helps one maintain record of the useful data for example, number of positive
cases registered, etc.) and communication and behaviour(this pandemic affects mental health in a
very negative aspect at times and also communication plays an important role whether it be
talking with peers or working from home).

According to the studies we carried out in the first week, the pandemic plays a major role in
these six domains in various ways, whether it be positive or negative. But these domains are sub-
categories of the foundations namely, water, neighbourhoods and democracy & justice. These
are the core foundations of a basic human life on which this whole pandemic is creating a huge
impact whether it be good or bad.

Society plays a wide role in contributing to data science. A well-educated society would
understand the effects and losses due to this disease and thus maintain discipline and support
government by all means. They would be aware of the social distancing and would also make
others aware through social media. A hygienic environment would also be maintained by them.
Thus, it would create data reduction as many of them would not get affected.

Across the world, even before coronavirus came into our lives, lack of water has been growing as
a crucial issue. Factors such as global warming, pollution, wastage of water are affecting the
water levels around the globe.

Taking account of the works of the government they should maintain the water bodies to keep a
particular area hygienic.

During this period, each and every person is dependent on the laws and orders which are passed
upon us by the leaders of our country. No one has the authority to go against the laws which are
made by the government and we all are having a compulsion to follow it, especially during this
pandemic.

The government of a particular nation would play a vital role in eradicating this worldwide
problem.

MODULE 2 SUMMARY
The origin of the virus was caused in December 2019 when a number of people were affected in
China. From examining it came to realize that it was brought about by an already obscure
infection which is presently called as 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID 19. It happened in a
gathering of individuals with pneumonia who ate the ocean depths and the live creatures. It was
right off the bat related with the individuals in the wet market of Wuhan. What's more, the
ailment has since spread to the individuals working, relatives and the social insurance staff. The
specific elements of the transmission of the infection is as yet obscure however it is seen that the
infection has been spread through the beads which is caused when a tainted individual hacks or
wheezes or comes into contact with anything which is debased with the infection. How might we
realize that the individual is tainted with the infection.? Well it is finished with a test known as
PCR or polymerase chain response. This test recognizes the infection based on the hereditary
fingerprints. At present there is no particular drug for the infection. What's more, as of now
there's no immunizations for the infection.

Immediately after China reported such cases WHO made a support team to deal with the virus.
WHO started taking necessary actions regarding prevention from this virus which included
creating awareness among people by publishing it worldwide, giving the guidelines about how
to detect the virus and take measures to prevent the virus. WHO also made a research team to
find the vaccines for the virus and also started gathering funds for the pandemic from various
private sector units. It was around February end that the virus spread worldwide due to
ignoring the statements given by WHO and dealing with this virus as normal.
The making of infographics for such a worldwide problem seems effective in understanding the
chaos created by it in different parts of the world. The current infographics suggest clearly that
the United States is the most affected country followed by Spain and Italy. China after suffering
from the disease for about 2 months has now recovered almost. Russia can be clearly seen as
currently moving towards the epicentre of coronavirus. Various graphs that lead to comparison
of different countries can also be made which helps in knowing which country might help the
others. The graphs for the number of recovery cases and the number of tests can also be made.
These graphs clearly show how developed the nation is in terms of health care facilities and
thus other nations can take help from them. Thus, infographics have a huge impact while
dealing with a major outbreak.

Germany is the country which after being affected has dealt with the situation wisely among all
the European nations.

Summary Module-3

The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed the label of the novel coronavirus COVID 19,
which was the source of respiratory disease in a cluster of people in Wuhan City, Hubei
Province, China, only on January 12, 2020. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic managed to
reach France from China, the source country of this deadly virus, in the last part of January 2020,
when the first COVID19 case was confirmed in France and also in Europe. But the country's
Minister of Solidarity and Health claimed that although the virus could not be completely
excluded, there would be minimal risk in France. France's first victim was a Chinese tourist who
was admitted to a Paris hospital on January 28, 2020 as a Crown suspect and succumbed to the
lethal virus on February 14, 2020 making it the first death in France due to Corona.

There are chances where this virus can be transmitted to animals via infected humans. But, the
France’s Anses health agency and the World Organization for Animal Health had advised the
owner to maintain the precautionary measures such as washing hands properly after touching
their pets, not allowing pets to lick their face, etc. Also, it is observed that this virus can be
infected to any age group, but can be adversely affected to the old age people or the people
having respiratory-diseases or diseases like diabetes or to the people having less immunity. This
shows that there is no specific age for this virus to get infected. In addition, the WHO also warns
against anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, cortisone, etc. as it may be an aggravating
factor in infections with corona viruses.

Kolmi-Hopen in France is one of the biggest manufacturers of N-95 masks. Some of the masks
also have an optional exhalation valve that doesn't cause breathing issues. France has many
polypropylene manufacturing units, as it is essentially an artificially manufactured petrochemical
product. About 25 million masks will be produced each week and transported by the end of
April. Though, the liquid soap is more preferred and is made of anionic surfactant, cocamide dea
surfactant, coco betaine as amphoteric surfactant .If the soap and water are not available
sanitizers containing final concentration of at least 60% ethanol or 70% isopropyl alcohol
inactivates viruses that are genetically related to, and have similar physical properties as the
COVID-19 virus.
A record must be made by questioning the people affected by the virus about the people they met
before they were quarantined and, as a result, a list of people under high risk can be drawn up.
Overall, the elderly and children have relatively low immune systems. Consequently, the
authorities can easily find out the number of people at risk according to the previous records. By
coordinating with the travel agencies, people working with import-export services can prepare
the quarantined number of people. The graph suggests the pandemic began mid-march and rose
to its extreme height during the end of March. The rise of April 3 was around 17,000 cases
because on that day, France declared about the number of affected hospital staff working against
corona. The worst day was on April 7th, when France reported the highest of 8728 cases. The
graph suggests that situations are now somewhat under control, and may end by the end of May.

The government ordered all universities and schools to be closed until further notice on 16
March, and was followed by a ban on more than 100 people from gathering. Mandatory home
confinement for 15 days from midday on March 17th was also announced by the government on
March 16th, which was extended twice, until May 11th. There was an acute mask shortage and
the government was not sufficiently prepared to deal with the Virus' threat as it was a completely
new issue. In addition to the Lockdown, the government also brought some radical changes to
people's work and movement and introduced certain laws related to labour and employment that
practiced social distance and isolation. The government has also made changes to rules on annual
leave, reductions in working days, maximum working hours and Sunday rest days. The
government has also imposed a compulsion to wear face masks for school kids and people who
travel by metro or any other public transport.

The behaviour of the French people is in such a way that they started to stay indoors but still
some people raged about it and almost began a riot, not understanding the severity of the issue.
People began to panic about everything, and mainly about basic amenities like groceries and
items used every day. As per the stats, sales of groceries started to rise sharply as people were
afraid, they might not be able to get enough for themselves, which in turn shows how panicked
they got. Although it was a worldwide concern, people in France were panicked not only because
of shortages of supplies, but also because, slowly, the number of cases in France continued to
rise and France was in one of the top five countries highly affected by coronavirus. That leads
one to conclude that people in France have been struggling with a lot of mental health illness and
fear due to coronavirus impacting their behaviours. As other nations, people are certainly under
extreme stress, particularly those infected by the virus, because the virus is lethal, but it often
gets healed, although people often get coronavirus without symptoms and it makes it more
difficult for one to identify it sooner. Although it is a major risk and therefore the world is under
a lockdown, people still need to understand the consequences that will be followed even after the
lockdown is over.

Health officials had been prompting social separation for a little while from the end of February,
through a multi-media general health camp that included radio, online networking and television.
Separate communication diverts are set up for experts in the healthcare sector. For the more
socially slanting numerous exhibition halls have free virtual visits, the FNAC has made 500 free
downloadable digital books, and dramas and plays are accessible on spill. President Macon has a
fame rating of 51 percent and 93 percent of people surveyed agree with his system. However,
early days life quickly adjusts to the mind-boggling quietness that invades a "lockdown" nation.
Module 4
In our earlier assignments we had discussed the impact of Covid-19 in France and the steps taken
by the Government there to control the Virus. Here we would make a comparative analysis of the
impact of Covid-19 and the steps taken by the Government in India and compare it with France.
India has been praised throughout the world for its measures taken to contain the virus. As the
virus was a totally new thing to handle and there being no vaccine or anti-virus available, the
Government of India decided for a total lockdown of the country barring essential services with
effect from 25th March, 2020 for a period of 3 weeks which has already been extended two times.
From time to time since the inception of lockdown Government of India has been very proactive
and has been constantly making policies for arranging free or subsidized food grains, transferring
money to them through DBT (Direct Bank Transfer) mechanism for meeting day to day
expenses, arranging for their safe return to home and various other measures. Testing, isolation
and treatments are done on a large scale and preventions are taken in case the number of patients
rises drastically. This has been done by converting hospitals into COVID-19 treatment centers
and building isolation wards. Railway coaches have been made into treatment centers.

Common points

France comes in the list of the 20 countries to whom India has supplied medicines. The
medicines will be sent in batches to these countries over a certain period of time based on when
the order was placed by them and emergency situations. Both the prime ministers have agreed to
share the information regarding the development of vaccines. France has also agreed to help the
most vulnerable people of India. The tourists are sent to their respective countries in spite of the
closure of international flights due to the collaboration. Military hospitals are built to look after
the soldiers who are fighting against the corona virus by shifting and controlling the civilians.
Hotels are arranged for the medical staff to ensure comfort for them. Taxis are made available
specially for medical staff so that they can reach the hospital quickly. Medical staff is being
provided with insurance facilities. Huge amounts of stocks of medical equipment including
masks, PEP suits, etc. have been maintained. Changes were also made by the government in
rules regarding annual leave, reductions in working time days, maximum working hours and
Sunday rest days

Comparison

The early imposition of lockdown prevented the mass spread of the virus in India whereas in
France the Government as well as the Public acted very lately and that led to the spread of the
virus very fast. India, being a big country both in respect of size and population as compared to
France has dealt with coronavirus well. The steps to carry out lockdown was necessary as India
has no such medical facilities compared to France. If India had taken late steps like France the
number of cases could not be imagined in India. France, despite taking late actions has now
controlled the outbreak which would not be possible in India due to lack in technology, economy
and education among the individuals. France does not have a huge amount of daily based and
immigrant workers so the chaos created by them is not prevalent in France unlike India. France
has also set up an emergency fund for 50 million Euros for the research. France being an
economically developed nation has better measures in terms of economic support to the people
than India. France helped all the small-scale business without any conditions laid unlike India. A
public guarantee has been introduced for new corporate liquidity loans. The public guarantee will
cover 90% of the loan amount for very small businesses and small and medium-sized
enterprises. There is an insurance policy for the unemployed people which will come into force
from 1st September which would look after all the people who might have faced unemployment
due to this pandemic. Heavy security to be imposed on the industrial units which are importing
materials from other nations after the pandemic gets over. Employees receive an allowance of
70% of their gross and 100% for minimum-wage workers which is far more than India.
It becomes quite difficult in terms of controlling such a vast population when it comes out to be
a national emergency. Still India has been proven quite efficient in maintaining the situation.
India as not being included in the developed nations might suffer a great loss due to this
pandemic and would go back in terms of other nations on economic platforms. So we the citizens
of India should aid the government to make their efforts successful and thus this might create a
history that a developing country dealt with a worldwide pandemic wisely than the developed
nations. Some of the measures need to be followed by us. Social distancing must be followed by
us to the maximum extent possible. We must keep ourselves sanitized and cover our faces
compulsorily if at all we have to go to the market for procuring our daily needs. We must also
make a point to help the poor and needy around us and ensure that they are not deprived of food.
We also need to be more sensible and responsible in using nature.
