Context and Rationale

What defines a “perfect” teacher? What defines a “perfect school? Researchers in the
field of education have been asking these questions that need continuous pursuit of latest and
more improved strategies to accurately evaluate and measure how “perfect” a school is or how
“perfect” a teacher is in terms of standards. At the onset of the century, a number of research
papers on teacher and school effectiveness addressed the complexities of numerous factors
confronted by various stakeholders.
Schools have become miniature versions of the community they belong, thus, involving
a diverse set of people experiencing the same set of problems including adolescent pregnancy,
environmental contamination, inequality, bullying, access to clean water, and many more.
Despite the maximum attempts put in by the administrators and faculty members, these
problems still persist at Passi National High School.
A recent project made by the school to address the lack of access to water, is through
the efforts of the PNHS-Alumni Association and Administration by providing adequate water
supply for the whole campus. However, there are still many recurring drawbacks the school is
facing, which involves the school’s main clienteles—the students, e.g., absenteeism, tardiness,
low participation in the class, improper disposal of garbage, low GSA results, vandalism,
alarming dropout rates, and inappropriate student behavior.
The teacher’s movement scheme, as defined by the researchers, is a school-wide
organization and management plan implemented by a school where teachers move from one
classroom to another to facilitate learning, while students remain on their classrooms in
accordance to their respective class schedules, grade level, and program.
Implemented during the current school year 2019-2020, this large-scale plan serves to
minimize the problems mentioned above. Although the ideal notion of a “perfect” school may
never be attained because of the extreme complexity of such problems, it is nonetheless
important to keep striving and moving forward in this direction.
