Simrad E50xx ECDIS Software Update

We are pleased to announce a new software version for the E50xx ECDIS/ECS system.
Improvements

 The virtual keyboard can be moved around the screen 

 Improved radar overlay presentation
 Improved compliance with S-64 test standards
 The "Lost VDR" warning more accurately reflects the system configuration

Procedure to install new software

 Download configuration file from ECDIS to USB

 Download FROM http://downloads.navico-commercial.com/software/index.html?r=1388
 and store the *.upd file to a USB memory stick.
 Remove everything from the USB connections on E50xx
 Insert a USB keyboard and the memory stick containing the *.upd upgrade file.
 Power cycle the device.
 When booting you will get a menu asking if you want to upgrade.
 Use your down arrow key on the keyboard and select "E5000-next-2.0.1.10877-standard-
1.upd" and then press enter.
 When update is done, system will restart. Don’t press anything before you can see ECDIS
running again.
 Then remove all USB devices. And connect the USB trackball/ mouse again.

 Press menu (right top corner)

 Press settings
 Press System
 Press System information
