A Journey Home.

They say we find everything we need at home and I have quite wondered why people go all over the
world then! All this fuss over how home is a feeling and still the greater majority of us running all
over the place in search of its tangibility!

How we profess about such romantic ideas and live quite the reality!

But one fine day, clearly out of the blue came my answers, exactly like those pretty little water beads
that came down to earth that evening. From a crystal sky, mocking the sun, and just out of the blue!

It would have been just another train ride home, just another noisy berth, just another filled up
compartment and just another plethora of sweaty humans, racing through time and places, through
sights and noises, if that one clear droplet hadn’t come down to land perfectly on my sweaty palm
dangling out of the window. That tiny droplet landed on my hand, stayed for a moment struggling
against the strong wind and was then scattered into a million little atoms, never to be seen again.
How futile! I thought. All that distance it travelled from up above, all so that it could kiss the earth
and go to sleep right where it came from! So similar to how we seek our homes, isn’t it? So sad, all it
could’ve was my sweaty palms. But then I thought, why do we seek home? To rest? Maybe it wasn’t
about being there, maybe it was about the journey. Being one tiny drop among millions, flying to the
sky, seeking the light, all to be one tiny part of something much large, and one day, after travelling
all over the world fighting against the winds, you gain enough to run back home! It must have been
all about the anticipation of going back to someplace forever yours, back to your memories. It must
have been beautiful! Did it matter really then, that the tiny droplet had to perish in my palms, that it
wasn’t able to complete its journey? Seconds before getting scattered, it would have been high on
that anticipation and on all those sights it just saw while racing down the sky. Could something have
been more beautiful?

And there I got my answer, in that ride home which I would cherish forever thereafter, since which I
would always remember home in all those shades of a rainbow, as pretty as the one I saw that day,
right out of that tiny little droplet, right out of the blue.
