Nursing and Midwifery
The course is open to candidate who has a certificate of secondary 3
education examination (CSEE) with Minimum grade of “C” in biology and
Chemistry and “D” in Physics/ Mathematics, pass in English language
is an added advantage OR Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education
Examination (ACSEE) with at least one pass (D) in Chemistry or Biology
and “S” in Physics, Mathematics or Geography. OR Advanced Certificate
of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with two principle passes
“E” in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography.

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education with 4 passes including

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with 2
four (4) passes in non-religious subjects (two passes should be of
science subjects) . Holderof any five passes of foreign qualification of
related science subjects . Holder of Basic Technician Certificate (NTA
Level 4) in Science with Education, or Alternative Certificate related to
science subjects. Holders of Advanced Certificate of Secondary
Education (ACSEE) with at least two passes in science subjects
 8 Ordinary Diploma in Arts
with Education
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with FOUR 3
principal passes, TWO principal passes from arts subjects excluding
religious subjects. OR Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education
Examination (ACSEE) with at least ONE principal pass or TWO
subsidiary passes in combination subjects (excluding religious subjects).
OR Grade “A” Certificate in teacher education (in arts subjects) with an
overall average of “B” with four (4) passes in C.S.E.E. Teaching
experience is preferable.

9 Diploma in Councelling Advanced level certificate of secondary education (ACSEE) with a 3

Psychology principal pass (E) of Biology and at least 2 other subsidiary passes. OR
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), with four (4)
passes in non-religious subjects and at least a credit of “C” in Biology.
OR Certificate in Counselling and Psychology and any other health
related/educational/social science program with CGPA of 3 and a
minimum of five passes of "D" grade or higher at "O" level including
Biology and chemistry.
N.B: Applicants with foreign qualification to be validated Prior to
application by the National Examination Council of Tanzania in respect
to the secondary school certificate and teacher education.

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education with 4 passes including 2
non- religious subject with basic Technician Certificate in Community
Development, Public Relation,Local Government Administration, Public

Banking and Finance passes in non-religious subjects or any five passes of foreign
qualification and Holder of Certificate in Business Administration,
Procurement, Information and Communication Technology,
Banking,Finance,Economics and any other Business course with “C”
grade average. OR Two subsidiaries or One Principal pass in the
following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology or
Business Study or an applicant with five passes under foreign
