1. There are several options that charities use to communicate with people in
order to ask them for donations. Social media are among the most frequented
tools for charities, in which we find questionnaires, advertisements, etc, all of
them related to the cause to support. Also, Televised Benefit Events such as La
Teleltón, and others such as Youtube and campaigns on the streets are
alternatives that a charitable organization makes use of for requesting these
contributions.

2. Honestly, I have only supported two charities in my life. The first one was to
help a nine-year-old girl who was really sick and needed medical assistance.
First, I filled in a questionnaire about Colombia’s healthcare system on Gmail,
and then, I provided a little amount of money for her surgery. The second one
was destined for a solidarity campaign that aimed to help Venezuelan people
and fight discrimination. My family and I supplied some food and clothing for
them to eat and wear.

3. 1. For whom it is intended.
2. Is it reliable? If the charity is via the Internet.
3. Facts. It means that these charities show the story behind the needy.

1. I think they communicate through e-mails, advertising, and events so people are
aware. And they also send letters to companies that are willing to help them.
2. Well, until now we have not supported any official foundation, but we help families
who live in a village near Turbaco called ‘Malagana’, and we always bring food,
clothing, and toys to children who need it, we do events for children to play and have
fun.
3. I would support a foundation that gives me security, that complies with what it says.
And if it’s about helping a person or animals I'm willing to do it.

1) Charities use different ways to acquire the help’s someone where there could be
benefits to both (the helper and the benefited). For example, they offer alliances
in which they can promote the products of the company which help them.

2) Yes, since my aunt got sick with cancer (two years ago), we help the needed
people whenever we can with money.

3) Information about people really needed as homelessness, drug addicts, animals,
among others.

1)- they usually resort to seeking corporate sponsorship to raise money because companies
can offer a lot of money.

2)- I have helped charities for children with cancer by donating part of my money to people
who are responsible for raising funds on the street.

3)- If you tell me that my donation can make a person in need very happy, I will donate
without thinking twice.

1. I think most charities when they need money turn to different methods as advertisement
requesting for donations and charity fundraising events.

2. Yes, I usually try to help stray animals charities so I am part of a foundation to help
animals by giving them food monthly.

3. Any information about animals would really convince me. But in general, if they tell me
that I can change someone’s life with my donations, they convince me immediately.

1. As far as I know, charities usually reach out by sending out letters and e-mails to
companies offering partnerships to help their cause or asking for money and
advertisement so their audience is aware and helps them, too.
2. Yes, I’ve donated clothes, money and food to those with low income.
3. I think that any type of information would persuade me to donate, especially if it’s
about people who don’t have anything to eat at home.

1. I know that charities seek donations through letters, e-mails, advertising, publications
through social media, and even through foundations or non-profit benefactors.
2. Yes, I have an aunt who runs a not-for-profit foundation to help poor people,
especially the elderly and children. My family has donated non-perishable food,
clothing, toys, and toiletries to the foundation. On the other hand, we also help in the
same way to people we know and know that they are in this same situation, besides,
we give food to those who knock on our door asking for something to eat.
3. Personally I am very suspicious since many people only ask for charity to do business
and in reality, nothing goes for the purposes they declare. Therefore, I only make
donations to those I know, will benefit from the foundation of my aunt and those who
ask for food already prepared or not perishable.

1. Currently, they do it through social media, e-mail, and television. The first one is
more likely to be used. It is almost accessible to anyone, cheap, and can spread the
information quicker than other means. Some might use flyers, but they do not possess
the same impact anymore, and eco-friendly people would not be happy with the
unnecessary use of paper.
2. Yes. When I was younger, my family supported a nonprofit organization which aimed
to rescue stray dogs and cats. It provided a warm shelter and food to these furry
friends. We donated food, dog shampoos, and conditioners. Sometimes they asked for
money, which was reserved for a health check at the veterinary. It was such a
heart-warming experience. I felt we were truly doing something great in helping these
little animals.
3. It needs to be a reliable source because of the large number of publicity stunts and
scams. There is nothing more gratifying than demonstrating empathy to others with
donations. Sadly, some bad people take advantage of this. I would need genuine
information like references, evidence, other people's opinions, etc.

1.I personally think that one of the best ways is the charity that is collected through the
media or social networks cause in my understanding in this way, it becomes more feasible of
communicating to people when they ask to donate.

2.I have made several donations with people in my church, i remember that we had collected
food for older people who were needy and for families with scarce resources, really these
are nice experiences.
3.Currently it is a difficult part because there are many people who take advantage of these
situations, for this reason i think that is very necessary to clarify and ensure for whom the
donation is destined.
