EXT. BANK OF THE NILE RIVER - DAY
Outback Xack stands on the river bank near an industrial
shipyard with Cairo, Egypt in the background. A stack of
steel shipping crates sits to one side of the frame, within
ten feet of Xack.
OUTBACK XACK
G’day mates! My name’s Outback Xack
and I’m an explorer from the Land
Down Under! That’s Xack with an X,
because X can make the Z sound too!
Today I’m going on an adventure in
Egypt! Would you like to go
exploring with me?...
Xack slumps in disappointment.

OUTBACK XACK
I’m sorry. I couldn’t hear you!
Would you like to go exploring with
me!?... Bonzer! But first we need
to practice our Egyptian adventure
skills. We need to practice our
pyramid climb, our camel ride, and
our river canoe slide. Will you all
practice those things with
me!?...O.K. Great! First let’s
practice our pyramid climb just in
case we need to climb a pyramid!
Everyone pull out your imaginary
ropes! Everyone
ready?...Bonzer! One! Two! Three!
Everyone follow me!

He does actions that correlate to the music.

INSERT MUSIC:
OUTBACK XACK
Swing your rope to and fro! Now
give it a great big throw. To the
top of the Pyramids of Egypt it
must go! Now give it a tug to make
sure its snug! To the top we climb,
the view will be sublime, if we
make it before sundown time!
Everyone pull! A to and a fro! A
heave and a ho! Everyone pull! A
heave and a ho! A to and a fro! To
the top we go! O-e-o! O-e-o! Get
ready to stop! Two more pulls and
were at the top. One! Two! Stop!

camel ride! Everyone ready!...One!
Two! Three! Follow me!

Xack does actions.

INSERT MUSIC:
OUTBACK XACK
Bend down and put your boots on
mate! We can’t be late! We’ve got
to go far away, so stand up and
give your camel some hay! Now mount
up friend! We’ve got to find the
path’s end! Put your first foot in
the stirrup! Now grab the saddle
horn! Stretch over the top without
leaving your pants torn! Now swing
your other foot into the stirrup!
Ready, set,
giddyup-pup-pup-pup-pup-PUP! Let’s
go faster! Give your camel faster
kicks! Giddy-pup-pup-pup-pup-PUP!
Now we’re going really fast, and
having a blast! But at this speed,
we won’t find what we need! We need
to slow! Give the reigns a yank and
yell whoa! Whoooooooa! We must
slow-e-o-e-o! Whooooooooooa! We
must slow-e-o-e-o!
Xack relaxes.

OUTBACK XACK
Great job practicing your camel
ride mates! Now lets practice our
river canoe slide! Everyone
ready?...One! Two! Three! Follow
me!
He does actions.

Push your vessel into the watery
blue. Now carefully step into your
floating canoe. Sit down on the
seat, without wobbling your feet!
Now that we’re steady, its time to
get ready, grab an oar, and grab
one more! Now push the oars out,
into the water with the trout! Now
pull them back and feel the glide
as we slide on this fun river ride!
Quick you know, before we slow, we
must row! Do it faster! Push the
oars out, into the water with the
trout! Now pull them back and feel
the glide as we slide on this fun
river ride! Quick you know before
we slow we must row! Now as fast as
you can! Push the oars out, into
the water with the trout! Now pull
them back and feel the glide as we
slide on this fun river ride! Quick
you know before we slow we must
row! It’s been fun to float! But we
must beach our boat! Head for the
shore! Our speed should roar! Now
pull your oars. Hold on tight!
We’re going to stop on the beach,
with a quick screech! Here it
comes. Don’t be afraid! This is how
adventures are made!
He relaxes.

OUTBACK XACK
Bonzer job practicing your River
Canoe Slide! You are all going to
make great explorers! Mates this is
Cairo the capital and largest city
in Egypt!

He gestures to Cairo in the background.

OUTBACK XACK
Let’s all say Cairo, Egypt on the
count of three! One! Two! Three!
Cairo, Egypt! My good friend Lyle
the Crocodile likes to lie around
here near the Nile River!
Xack puts the emphasis on Lyle’s name, clearly cuing Lyle
who is out of sight, to come out in big fashion.

OUTBACK XACK
And here he is! Ehem! Here’s Lyle
the Crocodile! Ehem! Lyle! Lyle!
LYYYYYYLLLLLLLE!

Lyle, a child crocodile wearing red tennis shoes, mopes out

from behind the shipping crates sniveling.
OUTBACK XACK
Crikey Mates! Lyle the crocodile
what’s wrong!

LYLE THE CROCODILE

(With slight lisp)
Aw shucks Xack, I lost my toof.
Lyle kicks the dirt. Xack turns away from Lyle towards the
audience/camera, snickers discretly, then turns back to
Lyle.
OUTBACK XACK
Lyle it’s o.k.! When you are young
you are suppose to lose your baby
teeth so that you can get your
permanent teeth.
LYLE THE CROCODILE
I know that silly, what I’m sad
about is the Tooth Fairy comes and
gives me money under my pillow. Aw
shucks I was saving up to get an
inner tube to float in the Nile
River with my friends.

OUTBACK XACK
Did you all hear that? Lyle is sad
because he lost the tooth he was
going to get money from the tooth
fairy for in order to buy a new
inner tube to float on the Nile
River. Wait a minute! How would all
of you like to help me help Lyle
the Crocodile find his tooth?...
O.K. Great!
LYLE THE CROCODILE
Gosh golly! That’s so nice of all
of you!
OUTBACK XACK
Lyle where did you last see your
tooth?

LYLE THE CROCODILE

Well, gee whiz. I pulled really
hard on it, and it flew over the
Nile River towards the Great
Pyramids of Egypt!
Lyle points down the Nile River.
LYLE THE CROCODILE
Shucks. It’s probably gone forever!
He kicks the dirt.
OUTBACK XACK
Chin up Lyle the Crododile! We’re
great at exploring and helping
friends, right explorers!... We may
have to cross all of Egypt in order
to find the tooth! Is everyone
ready for an adventure?...Bonzer!
Lyle wait here we’ll be right back!

LYLE THE CROCODILE

Oh alright.
Lyle mopes back behind the shipping crates.

OUTBACK XACK
Explorers! This is the Nile River!
Let’s all say Nile River on the
count of three! One. Two. Three!
Nile River! The Nile River was the
main road for all of ancient
Egyptians! Because four-thousand
years ago cars didn’t even exsist!
Let’s cross the Nile River!
Xack speedily marches towards water, then abruptly attempts
to stop as his toes reach the edge. Head over heels, he
flaps his arms to keep from falling forward into the Nile,
but inevitabely falls in with a huge splash.
OUTBACK XACK
Crikey! Get me out! Get me out! Get
me out! There’s big crocodiles in
there!
Xack scrambles out of the water unscathed.
OUTBACK XACK
We need to cross the Nile River!
Lyle emerges behind Xack, from behind the shipping crates
dragging a canoe with his mouth.

skill that can help us?...Did you
say River Canoe Slide?...You’re

a canoe! Do you?... Hm.
LYLE THE CROCODILE
You can use mine Xack!
OUTBACK XACK
Yikes! Oh, sorry Lyle! You startled
me. Thank you so much Lyle!
LYLE THE CROCODILE
It’s o.k. Xack, its good to help
friends whenever possible!

OUTBACK XACK
That’s right mates! Always help
your friends! Now let’s go! Wait a
minute! We are going in the water!
Is there anything we need?... Did
you say life jacket?... You’re
right! Anytime you get into a boat
you need a life jacket! Everyone
pull out your imaginary life
jacket! And put em on!

He pulls a life jacket out of his backpack and puts it on.

OUTBACK XACK
Now step into your imaginary canoe
carefully! Canoes are really
unstable when you stand in them.
They tend to wa! Wa! Wa! Wobble
quite a biii-!
While attempting to enter his canoe, Xack loses his balance
and flies out of his canoe into the water. He emerges
shouting and laughing!
OUTBACK XACK
Crikey mates! That’s what can
happen if you stand in your canoe!
I’m all wet. O.k. mates let’s get
serious. Lyle needs his tooth!
Let’s do the River Canoe Slide!

Xack’s canoe beaches. He pops out onto the sand, and wipes
sweat from his brow. Desert blankets the background.
OUTBACK XACK
Whew it’s crikey hot out here in
the desert! We have to march to the
Great Pyramids of Egypt through the
desert and its going to get even
hotter. We need water! Everyone
pull out your pretend cantine and
unscrew the cap.

Xack pulls a cantine from his backpack, and uncaps it.

OUTBACK XACK
Alright mates lets march across the
desert to the Great Pyramids of
Egypt! Everyone ready?...Do you all
remember your marching skills from
Australia?...O.k. bonzer! One. Two.
Three. March. One. Two. Three.
March. Left. Left. Left, right.
Left. We’re marching through Egypt!
The tooth will be unchipped! We’re

The pyramids come into view.
OUTBACK XACK
Keep on marching explorers! I see
the Great Pyramids of Egypt
approaching! Left. Left. Left,
right. Left!

EXT. PYRAMIDS OF EGYPT - DAY

OUTBACK XACK
O.k. mates, let’s stop here at the
Great Pyramids of Egypt. Let’s all
say Great Pyramids of Egypt on the
count of three. One. Two. Three!
Great Pyramids of Egypt! Let’s
look way to the left!
Xack covers his brow and looks left.

OUTBACK XACK

desert, and into the Great Pyramids
of Egypt. Mates! I think we are
going to have to go inside the
Great Pyramids of Egypt. It’s going
to get dark. Yikes! I’m afraid of
the dark!
Xack hides his eyes with his hands, and quickly uncovers
them.
OUTBACK XACK
Ahh! That didn’t help! What do we
need?... Did you say flashlight?
You are right! Everyone pull your
pretend flashlights out of your
pretend survival pack!
Xack pulls his flashlight out of his pack.
OUTBACK XACK
Now lets step inside the great big
pyramid! Remember to keep your eyes
peeled for Lyle the Crocodile’s
tooth.

Xack dissappears through a dramatic archway into a pyramid.

INT. PYRAMID - DAY

It is black as we hear CLUMSY FOOTSTEPS and bumping in the
dark.
OUTBACK XACK
Crikey its dark in these pyramids
mates! Mates?

INSERT SFX: Quick footsteps.

OUTBACK XACK
Mates! Where’d you go? Help! It’s

you to turn on your flashlights.

OUTBACK XACK
Ouch! Crikey that’s bright! Don’t
shine your flashlights in your eyes
mates! That really hurts! Alright
explorers stay close together as we
move down this hallway! Watch your
step, and look out for booby traps.
But most of all keep your eyes
peeled for Lyle’s tooth!
INSERT MUSIC:

OUTBACK XACK
Now march through the cooridor!
Look to the left and the right and
at the floor. Does anyone see a
tooth? No? March a bit more! Is
that a tooth? No. Just a door.
March somemore! Look to the left
and the right! We’re going to solve
Lyle’s plight. Keep up the fight!
Don’t get lost mates stay tight!
What’s that ahead to the right? It
looks like a tooth has come into
sight! Everyone point your
imaginary flashlight to the right!
Let’s make that tooth really
bright!

Xack’s flashlight illuminates a tooth that is a few feet

high. It glistens in the distance.
OUTBACK XACK
Stay close mates, I think Lyles
tooth is in sight!

Xack moves in. His flashlight illuminates a bit of a

skeleton. He freezes.
OUTBACK XACK
Yikes mates! Stop! What a fright! I
think we found a mummy! Stay right
where you are! I’m going to check
it out. Don’t worry, its not far.
Xack’s flashlight moves slowly towards the skeleton.

scientific discovery! A living
mummy! Hello!...
INSERT SFX: Xack’s voice echoes back again.

OUTBACK XACK
O.k. it sounds friendly. Let’s move
closer!
Xack’s flashlight moves towards the sparkling tooth, it is
close.

OUTBACK XACK
Hello... It didn’t respond. Move in
slowly. Hello... Still nothing.
The mummy, now within a few feet, is fully visible, leaning
against a wall, and stagnent.
OUTBACK XACK
Hello...
Xack walks up to the mummy slowly, reaches out and taps the
mummy’s shoulder.
OUTBACK XACK
Hello?... Mates it isn’t talking
anymore. Maybe it is having trouble
hearing us. On the count of three
let’s all shout: Hello! Have you
seen Lyle the Crocodile’s tooth?
One. Two. Three! Hello! Have you
seen Lyle the Crocodiles tooth?

INSERT SFX: Xack’s voice echoes back again.

OUTBACK XACK
Crikey! Did you hear that mates? I
think thats an echo! Echoes happen
when you shout really loud and the
sound of your voice bounces like a
ball off a wall. This is just Dummy
the Mummy. It’s not real. The real
mummy’s are in museums. Dummy the
Mummy has been placed here by

Xack slouches in discouragement, causing his flashlight to

illuminate a tooth imprint on the wall.
OUTBACK XACK
What’s that explorers? You see
something?

Xack’s posture quickly energizes.

OUTBACK XACK
You’re right! You do see something.
It looks like a crocodile tooth
imprint on the wall! And judging by
the direction of the streak behind
the imprint, the tooth must have
flown right through this cooridor
and out the other side of the
pyramid towards the Great Sphinx at
Giza! Let’s march to the Great
Sphinx at Giza! One. Two. Three!
Follow me!

EXT. EGYPTIAN DESERT - DAY

Xack marches across the barren desert, visuals follow song.

OUTBACK XACK
This way mates! Let’s march out of
this arch! Everyone keep on alert
as we march through the hot desert.
Being out in the sun can be so much
fun, but make sure you get your
work done! Keep on marching to the
Sphinx, even though our sweat
really stinks! The desert is filled
with brown sand, don’t worry
though, the tooth can’t get tanned!
We need to speed up our motion,
because we forgot sun tan lotion!
Look left, look right! Keep up the
fight! Here comes the Great Sphinx!
Congrats mates, we made it without
kinks!
13.

EXT. GREAT SPHINX - DAY

OUTBACK XACK
Bonzer job marching mates! We’ve
marched quite far on our feet, not
to mention this hot hot heat! Let’s
take a moment to stop, and sit down
with a plop! Pull out your cantines
and remove the top! Tip it up to
your mouth. Oh no! Nothing left,
not a drop! Let’s dig down deep in
the sand! When you’re in the desert
without a helping hand, and you’re
too dehydrated to stand. You must
dig down into the land, in order to
find water, when you body gets
hotter. Now pull some plastic of
your bag, cover the hole with a
pebble in the middle to make it
sag! Watch closesly mates its quite
the sensation! Water will collect
from condensation! Drip. Drop.
Drip. Drop. Look at it collect from
the bottom to the top! Now lift up
the bag, being super careful to let
it sag! This is the best way to get
water, when it gets hotter! Bend
down and drink up mate! We need to
hurry or we’ll be late to make it
back for Lyle’s tooth fairy date!
Xack takes a swig from his cantine.
OUTBACK XACK
Explorers this is the Great Sphinx
at Giza! Let’s all say Great Sphinx
at Giza on the count of three. One.
Two. Three. Great Sphinx at Giza!
The ancient Egyptians built many
Sphinxes to guard their beautiful
pyramids. They believed that the
Great Sphinx at Giza was a form of
the sun god. It has the Egyptian
king’s head and the body of the
king of the jungle, which is a
fearocious animal that roars. Do
you know what animal that is?...
Did you say lion?... Spot on! The
Great Sphinx at Giza has the
Egyptian king’s head and the body
of a lion. Do you remember why we
are out here?... That’s right! To

Lyle the Crocodile’s tooth!

Xack mopes about.

OUTBACK XACK
(forceful whisper)
Shh!

He flaps his hands in a non-verbal cue to be silent, then

with eyes wide open doesn’t move a muscle.
OUTBACK XACK
(whisper)
Do you hear that?
The ground begins to shake.
INSERT SFX: Low erie hum.

Frantically Xack looks around, then catches something in

view and freezes.
INSERT SFX: The hum gradually gains volume.
Mortified, Xack points.

OUTBACK XACK
I-i-i-i-ts-a-a-s-s-s-s- Run!
Sprinting, he systematically whips his backpack off.

OUTBACK XACK
Don’t look back!
He fumbles with the zipper, reaches inside and rips a
blanket out.

INSERT SFX: Rapidly the hum gains volume.

OUTBACK XACK
It’s a sandstorm mates! We need
to cover ourselves with our
imaginary blankets!
Ripping his bandana from his brow, he drops to the ground
and retrieves his cantine from his pack.

OUTBACK XACK
Shake some water onto your bandana
and cover your mouth and nose! The
dust can get in there and make it
really hard to breathe!
INSERT SFX: The hum is now a roar.
Voice muffled Xack shouts through the make-shift filter.

OUTBACK XACK
The flying sand can burn your skin
too unless you cover up!
INSERT MUSIC:

He does actions.
OUTBACK XACK
One! Two! Three! Follow me! Drop
down low! The sand is flying like
snow! So cover your entire body!
Because flying sand is naughty! It
will hurt you really bad, and make
you really sad. So stay safe under
your blanket, and when its over pop
out like a puppet. Storms can be
scarey, but if you follow safety
steps things won’t get hairy! It
sounds like its over, but wait a
five more seconds to be sure!
Remember always pick safety first!
And you will be far from the worst!
The storm has past, over and done!
Now let’s emerge and have some fun!
Sand flies as Xack pops out from under his blanket. He spits
out sand and coughs into laughter that quickly turns to a
sob.
OUTBACK XACK
Its gone! Our path is gone! The
tooth is probably buried or blown
away with the storm.

Frustrated he marches back and forth, kicking the sand.

OUTBACK XACK
Ah! Why did we even think we could
help a friend! The stupid tooth is
gone! I’m stupid!
A cheery female voice cuts Xack’s rant.

smiling wide.

OUTBACK XACK
Who are you?
FEMALE CAMEL
I’m BLAMO THE CAMEL! Hero of the
desert! Suvivor of sand storms!
Defender of the pyramids and roller
skating genius!
OUTBACK XACK
Uh, roller skating genius huh? Hate
to break it to you mate but there
is sand everywhere, and its
impossible to roller skate in sand.
Your wheels would jam up right
away. Sorry but we need to moving!

Turning away, Xack drops and shakes his head.

OUTBACK XACK
Come on explorers. This camel is
crazy.

BLAMO THE CAMEL

Why such the long face? I told you

Look friend. We were trying to help
a friend find a tooth, and now we
are lost, out of water, and tired.
We don’t have time for some crazy
camel in the middle of the desert.

Dropping her head, Blamo’s smile fades. Xack turns to the

explorers.
OUTBACK XACK

Mid-stride Xack freezes while staring into the distance.

OUTBACK XACK
No way! Blamo is roller skating
away! Come on mates! I was totally
wrong! Blamo wait! I’m sorry!
Xack bolts after Blamo.
OUTBACK XACK
Blamo! I’m sorry! I was wrong about
you and my attitude was horrible!
Wait!
He catches up to Blamo, who stands atop a sand dune wearing
ROLLER SKATES WITH OVER SIZED WHEELS WRAPPED WITH ALL
TERRAIN TRACKS.

BLAMO THE CAMEL

Oh, hey. What do you want?
OUTBACK XACK
Blamo, I’m so sorry! I let my
circumstances get the me and a bad
attitude sink in.
BLAMO THE CAMEL
It’s ok Xack, even leaders get down
sometimes! The important thing is
that you recognized it and
apoligized.
OUTBACK XACK

something before you have all the
facts. Thank you for forgiving me
Blamo.

blowing wood, and landed in the
Nile Delta.
OUTBACK XACK
Oh no! How will we ever find Lyle’s
tooth? Its probably at the bottom
of the Nile Delta!

Xack drops his head.

BLAMO THE CAMEL
Easy friend. Did you learn anything
from the past five minutes?
Remember never jump to conclusions.
Now think about what I just said.
OUTBACK XACK
Ha! O.k. O.k.

Placing his hand on his chin, Xack thoughtfully paces back

OUTBACK XACK
Hm. Tooth. Chunk of wood. Nile
Delta. Rivers are flowing water.
Wood floats in water.
Blamo nods along with Xack’s thought pattern.
OUTBACK XACK
The tooth is stuck in a chunk of
wood that’s floating in the Nile
Delta!
BLAMO THE CAMEL
Spot on! You figured it out!

OUTBACK XACK
But we don’t have any energy to

Wait. Look!
Smiling, Blamo nods towards a massive sand dune. Xack stands
frozen staring at the dune.

A hundred camels wearing "all-terrain roller skates" come

skating over the dune. Xack laughs with joy.
BLAMO THE CAMEL
We’ll carry you to the Nile River.

The camels line behind Blamo.

BLAMO THE CAMEL
I have a hunch you’ll be able to

OUTBACK XACK
Thank you so much Blamo. You heard

Xack dismounts Blamo.

OUTBACK XACK
Thank you so much Blamo and
friends. We couldn’t have gotten
here without you.

BLAMO THE CAMEL

No problem Xack! Now get outa here!
You’ve got a tooth to find! Good
luck! And remember never ever give
up!

Turning around Blamo addresses the other camels.

BLAMO THE CAMEL
Who’s up for sand surfing? Lets go!

The camels skate into the distance.

OUTBACK XACK
But wait! You said we’d figure
out-- Hm.

He stares at the river.

OUTBACK XACK
Mates I don’t have the energy to
row upstream against the mighty
current of the Nile, and I’m
guessing you don’t either. Maybe
there’s another way. Let’s look at
our map!
Pulling a map from his pack, Xack points at the Nile south
of the Delta.

OUTBACK XACK
We are here, and we need to get
here.

Xack points at the Nile Delta.

OUTBACK XACK
That is north.
Xack points north.

OUTBACK XACK
So, the Nile Delta is that way, and
if we look the ma--

Suddenly a GUST OF WIND rips the map from Xack’s hands

sending it into the Nile. Xack looks helpless.
OUTBACK XACK
Ah. Um. I’m not sure what we are
going to do now mates.

Staring helplessly at the map floating in the river, he

drops his head and shakes it.
OUTBACK XACK
Maybe its time to give up mates.

He looks up.
OUTBACK XACK
I’m sorry I brought you out here
mates, and I’m sorry we couldn’t
help Lyle. But most of all I’m
sorry I lost the map in the river
and fail-- Where’d the map go?
He looks back and forth at the Nile.

OUTBACK XACK
There it is. Floating away up the
Nile. Floating up the Nile, like
our plans to help Lyle.

Jaded, Xack tosses around a dirt while stares at the ground.

INSERT SFX: Blamo’s statement "Never ever give up,"
reverberates in Xacks head.
Struck by sudden revelation, Xack leaps to his feet.

OUTBACK XACK
Ha! Ha! Ha! Floating UP THE NILE!
FLOATING UP THE NILE! Duh! Ha! Ha!
Ha! Mates which way was the Nile
Delta when I pointed?... That’s
right! And which way is the map

floating?... Spot on! Bonzer job!
The Nile River is the only river in
the world that flows South to
North! Explorers say that aloud
with me! The Nile River is the only
river in the world that flows South
to North! All we have to do in
order to get to the Nile Delta is
jump in! The Nile will carry us
north to the delta! Everyone put on
your life jackets! Do you remember
your swimming skills from
Australia? Bonzer!
WITH ACTIONS:

OUTBACK XACK
One. Two. Three. Follow me! Jump in
the Nile! First reach way out!
First reach way out! Then pull back
in! Then pull back in! Now we can
swim! Now we can swim! Go faster
mates! Show me how fast you can
swim! (2x faster) First reach way

back in! Then pull back in! Now we
can swim! Now we can swim! Go
faster mates! Show me how fast you
can swim! There is the
Mediterranean sea up ahead which
means we’ve entered the Nile Delta!
Get to the shore!

EXT. NILE DELTA - DAY

Xack stands on the lush shore of the vast Nile Delta.
OUTBACK XACK
mates this is the Nile Delta! A
delta is where a river flows into
an ocean or lake or another river.
Deltas are a three sided shape that
looks like this.

INSERT: Triangle overlaying an overhead view of the Nile

Delta.
OUTBACK XACK
Do you know what shape this is?...
Bonzer! Your’re right. This is a
triangle! The Greeks named this

part of rivers deltas because they
are shaped like the letter Delta in
the Greek alphabet, and the letter
Delta in the Greek alphabet is a
triangle! Now let’s find Lyle’s
tooth! Look to the left!
He covers his brow and looks to the left.
OUTBACK XACK
Hm. Nothing. Let’s look way to the
right!
Brow covered, he looks right.
OUTBACK XACK
Hm. Nothing. Not a tooth in sight!
But it’s got to be around here
somewhere! What did Blamo the Camel
say the tooth was stuck
in?...That’s right! A piece of wood
and wood floats, so it must be on
one!-
Xack points at pieces of floating wood in the Nile Delta.
OUTBACK XACK
-of -those -millions -of -pieces
-of w w w w ood. Crikey! This is
impossible!
NERVOUS VOICE (O.S)
Did someone say impossible?

Startled, Xack spins around searching for the voice.

OUTBACK XACK
Who’s there?

NERVOUS VOICE (O.S)

I can’t tell you!
OUTBACK XACK
Ha! It’s ok. We’re friends with
everyone right mates!... See! Now
come out here.
NERVOUS VOICE (O.S)
You’re not friends with me! No one
is friends with me.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 24.

OUTBACK XACK
Ha! Ha! That’s impossible! Everyone
has at least one friend!
NERVOUS VOICE (O.S)
There it is again! Impossible! I
don’t like the word impossible, not
one bit!
OUTBACK XACK
Why’s that mate?

NERVOUS VOICE (O.S)

Because nothing is impossible!
Which is why we can’t be friends!
OUTBACK XACK
Impossible! We’re friends with
everyone! Right mates!...
NERVOUS VOICE (O.S)
O.k. I’ll prove it! But I warned
you. Here I come! I’m Dippo the
Hippo!
Covered in red fluid, a thirteen foot Hippo emerges from the
water, right next to Xack. It stops with its legs submerged.
OUTBACK XACK
AHHH! A Hippopotamus! Impossible!
There aren’t any Hippos in Egypt!
Hide yourselves quick mates!
Taking cover, Xack dives behind a giant fallen log.

DIPPO THE HIPPO

Told you I don’t have any friends.
Xack shouts from behind the safety of the log.

OUTBACK XACK
No offense mate, but you are a huge
Hipppo! A Hippo with huge teeth!
Hippos are EXTREMELY dangerous!
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Not me. I’m a kind Hippo.
OUTBACK XACK
Impossible!

(CONTINUED)

DIPPO THE HIPPO

Stop saying impossible.
OUTBACK XACK
O.k. O.k. just please don’t hurt
us. We were just trying to our
friend Lyle the Crocodile find his
tooth that got stuck in some wood
and floated into the Nile Delta.
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Well why didn’t you say so! I
happen to have an extensive
collection of crocodile teeth.
OUTBACK XACK
From all of the crocs you’ve
fought?
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Nope. I don’t fight. The local
Egyptians have kicked the rest of
the Hippos out of Egypt for
fighting, but they leave me alone
because I leave them alone. Treat
others the way you want to be
treated I always say.
OUTBACK XACK
Wow! I’m so sorry I didn’t believe
you. You truly have beaten the
impossible. If I come out will you
be nice?

DIPPO THE HIPPO

I already said I am nice.
OUTBACK XACK
O.k. Please don’t eat me.

Xack emerges from behind the log and cautiously approaches

the water, as the hippo cautiously exits the water and
approaches Xack. They meet on the shore.
OUTBACK XACK
G’day mate. My name’s Outback Xack
with an X because X can make the Z
sound too!
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Hi, I’m Dippo the Hippo, because I
like taking long dips in the water.

CONTINUED: 26.

OUTBACK XACK
Whoa! Mate! You’re bleeding all
over!
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Ha! No thats just my special
sunscreen sweat. My body makes it
so I don’t get sun burned, while
I’m basking in the sun.
OUTBACK XACK
Wow! You truly have beaten the
impossible! It’s no wonder you
don’t like that word.
DIPPO THE HIPPO
You think that’s cool? Guess what
else? I sleep underwater!
OUTBACK XACK
No way! That’s imposs--
Dippo raises an eyebrow, as Xack catches himself.

DIPPO THE HIPPO

Yep. My body automatically comes up
for air while I’m sleeping! Which
reminds me. Earlier today I was
having a nice dream of eating
delicious plants, when a sinking
chunk of wood fell on my head and
woke me up. Normally I would sleep
through something like that, but a
child crocodile tooth lodged in the
wood poked me in my extremely thick
skin. I thought I had been bitten.
Didn’t you say you were looking for
some--
OUTBACK XACK
--Yes! Yes! Yes! I did! Can we have
it mate? Can we have it?
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Well normally I’d say no because I
need it for my collection. But...

Xack looks on anxiously.

DIPPO THE HIPPO
If you promise to be my friend, I
guess I could spare one tooth.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 27.

OUTBACK XACK
We’ll do you one better Dippo!
Mates would all of you be friends
with Dippo the Hippo?... How’s that
Dippo?

Blushing, Dippo gets physically bashful.

DIPPO THE HIPPO
Gosh, thats so nice of all of you.
Thank you so much! Wait right here.
My collection is underwater. I’ll
be right back!
Dippo dissappears into the water.
OUTBACK XACK
Did you all hear that? It sounds
like we’ve finally found Lyle’s
tooth! But let’s not jump to
conclusions!
Bubbles rise and pop on the surface of the Nile Delta.

OUTBACK XACK
Oop! Here comes Dippo the Hippo!
Let’s see if its an inscisor with
red paint on it!

Dippo the Hippo rises from the Delta with a chunk of wood
with a tooth protruding from one side. He spits it onto the
shore.
DIPPO THE HIPPO
That’s the bugger that poked me
earlier during my dream.
Wild eyed, Xack scrambles to pick it up, yanks the tooth
from the wood and examines it. He spins it around, examining
every angle then slumps over.

OUTBACK XACK
There’s no red paint on this tooth.
Snapping up, Xack immidiately smiles.

OUTBACK XACK
There must be a solution! Dippo do
you have any child croc teeth with
red paint on them?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 28.

DIPPO THE HIPPO

Actually friend, I believe that
tooth had red point on it befroe
you pulled it from the wood! Look
in the hole!
Cautiously Xack looks in the hole, smiles then turns the
hole towards camera/audience.

OUTBACK XACK
What color is this mates? Thats
right! Red! Bonzer! I think the red
paint from Lyle’s tooth came off in
the hole in the wood! Let’s all
race back to the bank of the Nile
to find out if this is Lyle the
Crocodile’s tooth!
LYLE THE CROCODILE (O.S.)
You don’t have to! That is my toof!

Turning around, Xack sees lyle floating up the Nile Delta

with his crocodile friends, all on inner tubes.
OUTBACK XACK
Lyle! How’d you get that inner
tube? I thought you needed money
from the tooth fairy to buy it?
Lyle floats into closer view, revealing the lack of his
other inscisor.

LYLE THE CROCODILE

Shucks Xack, I’m sorry. I lost my
other toof! Took a nap and the toof
fairy came!
OUTBACK XACK
Ha! No need to apoligize mate. Yøu
can’t fight nature! It’s imposs--
DIPPO THE HIPPO
Eh. Eh.

OUTBACK XACK
Just kidding Dippo! Here’s your
tooth Lyle.
He hands Lyle the tooth as he floats by.

LYLE THE CROCODILE

Golly gee willikers! Thanks for
helping me Xack and explorers!

OUTBACK XACK
No, thanks for letting us help you
Lyle! We learned so much!
Lyle floats on by.

OUTBACK XACK
Everyone say so long Lyle the
Crocodile!...Alright mates, I’ve
gotta run! More exploring to do!
And until next time, keep on
exploring!
