Dapa National High School gives relief goods to heal and help as one

BY: Lorenze A. Quinaso, T-I

DAPA – Dapa National High School teaching and non-teaching personnel headed by the School
Principal IV, Dr. Jovy C. Liza, shared relief goods to 156 less fortunate families of Barangay. 2,
Barangay. Bingag, and Sitio Malipayon during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) on
April 21 – 22, 2020 from the personnel’s pledges that amounted to P87, 648.00.

The relief operation started with an encouragement that each staff should donate at least
P200.00 so as to grab the opportunity to bless those who do not have permanent jobs and are
considered as lower class families. Yet, the staff decided to donate beyond the suggested
amount and the total almost reached a hundred thousand pesos. The money came up with 18
sacks of rice, 624 canned goods, 468 packs of noodles, 176 packs of biscuits, 176 packs of
coffee, and 83 kilos of sugar.

On April 21, the staff released the relief goods to some of the families of Barangay Bingag and
Sitio Malipayon, and continued doing so the next day – April 22 – to the selected families of
Barangay 6.

“Salamat karajaw na kami an ijo napili na Barangay kay kalisud gajud diri. Nananom rakan gani
kami nan root crops”, one of the residents of Baranagay Bingag said as he received his share of
the relief goods.

At Sitio Malipayon, happy and excited faces could be seen the moment that the staff set foot on
that place. At Barangay 6, another batch of “thank yous” was gladly received by the staff as
they delivered the goods.

“This is a great avenue for DNHS to touch the lives of other people, especially the Dapan-ons.
This sharing of relief goods will surely serve as a mark that despite the global pandemic we face
nowadays, we are still able to extend help to our fellows. Together, we heal and help as one”,
Dr. Jovy C. Liza quoted.
