Eligibility Criteria for MUIT PhD Admission 2019-20


The candidate must ensure minimum eligibility conditions of their admission/selection to the
respective subjects as prescribed by the UGC.
Examination Fee
As per the decision of the University the application fee for PhD admission test is prescribed as
follows:

For all candidates Rs. 1100/-


Candidates applying for more than one program shall, however, have to submit separate
application form for each of the above programs
Selection Process
Ph.D. Admission to various specializations of MUIT will be through Entrance Test followed by
Interview.

MUIT PhD Admission 2019-20 Application Process


Candidate may collect application form from MUIT, Lucknow and submit it at admission Department.

Candidates are advised to read carefully this information brochure, check their eligibility and applicable
reservation category etc. before filling and submitting the application.

Reservation Policy

 Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located in State of
U.P. and are domicile of U.P. and belong to Schedule Caste (SC) of U.P. / Schedule Tribe (ST) of
U.P. / Other Backward Classes of U.P. are eligible for benefits available for reserved category
candidates.
 Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located outside U.P.
and whose parents are domicile of U.P. and who belong to Schedule Caste of U.P. / Schedule
Tribe of U.P. / Other Backward classes of U.P. are also eligible for benefits available against
reserved category.
 5% relaxation in academic eligibility criteria and in written test is applicable only for SC/ST
domicile of U.P. candidates.
 Category certificate must be issued after April 1, 2019.

EXAMINATION DETAILS

The multiple choice type examination for admission to Ph.D. programmes exam shall be conducted
Online / OMR pattern at the MUIT as prescribed by the University.

Scoring and Negative Marking

a. The question paper will have 100 multiple type questions. 50 each of Research Methodology and
Subject specific.

b. All objective type questions are required to be answered against the respective question number.
Candidate is supposed to select only one choice for correct answer in each question.

c. More than one answers indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect answer and no marks
will be awarded for the incorrect answer.
d. Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking in the evaluation of above pattern of
examination.

e. Tie Break—In case of equal marks secured by the candidates, the tie will be broken on the basis of
number of wrong questions attempted (more wrongs less ranking).

Schedule of Examination

The examination will be conducted on 22nd February 2020 at MUIT campus for the candidates seeking
admission to Ph.D. program from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Exemption from appearing Written Test:

The candidates fulfilling at least one of the following conditions will be exempted from appearing the
written test:

a) Candidates who are qualified in National Level Test such as NET.

ADMIT CARD

Admit card will be available at examination department of MUIT to every candidate. The candidates are
advised to check the details of admit cards with regards to their category, gender, Name, Father's Name
etc. as mentioned on the Admit Card. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate may report to the
examination Centre superintendent for such correction on the day of examination.

Important:

Since successful candidates are required to produce the Admit Card at the time of interview, counseling
and admission, it should be carefully preserved until the admission process is completed.
