Dear Students,
In continuation to our efforts in sync with Govt. guidelines, we remain committed to make sure that learning
never stops in these challenging times. Online academic activities, online examination and access to globally
accredited resources are some of the steps we have taken to make sure that even when the country is in a state
of lockdown, professional and personal development of our students are not compromised.
Next semester for existing students begins from August 1st 2020. Students shall not be permitted to join
campus before 1st August 2020. However, this is dependent on government guidelines.
If you feel that you need additional input in form of remedial/ tutorial classes, you need to register for these sessions
online in advance on student Portal (window will open from 30th May to 10th June), so that we can plan ahead. Lab
Sessions wherever possible shall also be conducted virtually or otherwise will be shifted to next semester.
3. Summer School Classes (Odd Semesters): 5th June to 20th June 2020 (will happen in online mode-
details will be shared by respective schools).
4. End Semester Examination for Even Semester: For all theory courses or lab/ practical already
covered in virtual mode (Non Graduating Batches): 6th to 24th July 2020 exam to be conducted in
Online Mode.
Will be conducted through blackboard following platforms and modes:

More details on schedule and structure of examination for each course will be shared by respective schools
and departments.
5. All Even Semester supplementary/improvement examinations for students already registered
earlier (except for final semester courses) shall also be conducted in online mode (on platform and
mode mentioned in point 4) between 6th to 24th July 2020. No final semester exam will be held during
this duration.
6. All students having backlog in *Odd Semester courses (including the graduating batch) should
register for supplementary/ improvement examination between 24th May to 30th May 2020 as per the
University’s regular process.
7. Above Odd Semester Supplementary Examination shall also be conducted in online mode as per above
structure between 6th to 24th July 2020 (only for those who register themselves between 24th May to 30th May).
8. Graduating batch End Semester Examination ( Even Semester- those who have opted for chance 2
): will be conducted in Online Mode on Metl platform in campus from August 1st 2020 or whenever
the government guidelines permit (whichever is earlier).
9. Students who have already graduated (in 2019 or earlier) but have to appear for supplementary
exams/ improvement exams can apply for cycle as mentioned in point 8.
10. Supplementary exams for Final semester (even semester) will be held post the conduct of chance 2
exams as above.

changes in the academic calendar. Please note some of the important timelines for next three months as below:

Dear Students,
The recommencement of academic activities in campus scheduled from 1st April as per last mail stands
postponed till further notification. We shall keep you informed of the plans as per the
situation and guidelines from Government.

UPES greatly appreciates the notification issued by the Government of Uttarakhand as a preventive step from the
spread of Corona Virus (COVID – 19) to suspend all academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities until
31st March 2020. Aligning with the guidelines, all academic activities inside the campus are suspended till 31st
March 2020. Further updates will be released after reviewing the situation.
All arrangements will be made to complete academic commitments, the instructions on mode of curriculum
completion will be issued by schools soon. The academic rigor will continue without any compromise.
Ensuring safety and health of all its stakeholders is prime for UPES and everyone is requested to kindly
follow the precautionary measures for containing the spread of COVID 19.”

Dear Students,
In light of the spread of novel Coronavirus in India and
declaration by WHO as outbreak of a global pandemic,
we at UPES have taken many precautions. As an
additional precaution and proactive measure, the
management has decided to suspend all academic
activities inside the campus till 22nd March 2020. Further
updates will be released after reviewing the situation.
All necessary action for completion of the syllabus will
be taken and communicated in due course of time before
the start of End Term Examinations. The students staying
in hostels are advised to take decision to stay back or
return to their hometown as deemed fit by their families.
We would request you to maintain the precautionary
activities, as has been advised by different health
organizations.

Dear Students,
In line with the recent confirmed cases of coronavirus in India and as a precautionary
measure, following advisory is being issued.
1. Travel advisory – While we would recommend to avoid travel – both international & within India for
both students & employees – All Industrial visits/ any other travel planned in next 2-3 weeks stand
postponed till further notice. All events that involve large gatherings and groups coming together are
being postponed for now. All students planning to travel at personal level are also strongly advised to hold
back the plans. In case it is urgent please make sure that you follow all precautions, minimise the use of
airports and public transport.
2. Holi celebration- Holi Celebration in campus is strictly prohibited for this year. Any student found
playing with colours or water may invite disciplinary action. We also strongly advise to avoid playing Holi
outside campus for your own safety, it might increase the probability of catching cold/ cough etc.
3. Help your friends- In case you discover any student suffering from any of the symptoms, please help
them reach out to Infirmary or a doctor. Students suffering from any of the symptoms are advised to stay
back and not attend classes till the time they are perfectly fit.
4. Be Safe: Please note the following too that should be followed to be safe. These are every simple yet
helpful practices.
· If you or someone in the family or someone in immediate proximity has travelled to any of the
places in Category A, they need to be isolated for 14 days through the incubation period.
· Wash
hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water
are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. We are making sanitizers
available for all.
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
· Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when you are
sick! Please do not come to work if you are feeling sick. If you have fever of over
98.6F, stay at home until you are fever-free for 48 hours without the aid of any
medication.
· Cover
your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. One
can reduce droplet spread by sneezing/ coughing into your elbow as well.
