Slide 23- current day teaching learning process

current day teaching learning process has – imbalanced process bcz of non
synchronization of teaching , learning and evaluation methods.

Slide 24- Aurora’s TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS

Hence aurora has come up with a new teaching learning Process Teaching learning is an
interactive process that can be traced from the Vedic times. The process has had a long
standing tradition of inspiring numerous educationalists and knowledge leaders. Though
the process has traveled a long way sine then, the ethos remains the same- to impart and
imbibe knowledge. In simple words, teaching is a process of making others understand
what you want them to know, but the “Teaching – Learning Process” is in reality a
complex practice of exchanging ideas, transmitting and receiving knowledge and
information through deliberations and discussions. Aurora in its own way has distilled the
following styles and methods following the semester system of education:
1. Conventional Teaching-Learning Process
2. Interactive Teaching-Learning Process
3. Experimental Teaching-Learning Process
4. Supplementary Teaching-Learning Process

Slide 25- CONVENTIONAL TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS

As the name itself suggest, this is a traditional approach to Teaching-Learning and with
which almost all Indian students are familiar. The institution has adopted this as one of
the Teaching-Learning Processes, along with other more contemporary processes.
Conventional Teaching-Learning Process includes the following:
1. Classroom Lectures
2. Tutorials
3. Laboratory Sessions

Slide 26- INTERACTIVE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS

It aims at giving students experience in practical implementation of theoretical concepts

through interaction between teachers and students and interaction among students. This
process keeps the students informed about the rapid development in various spheres.

Slide 27- EXPERIMENTAL TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS

Mini Projects

The goal of the mini projects is to get the student to explore research and development
initiatives in a specific area. The mini projects are to be taken up immediately after every
even semester. The projects are undertaken in an industry or research lab or other
academic institutions, as decided by the project advisor.

Main Projects

The final year project work reflects the knowledge acquired by the students during the
course of their four-year study. The project, an essential ingredient of the undergraduate
programme, draws upon the theoretical knowledge and experimental skills of the student.
Needless to say that the project developed by the student would be evaluated by experts
to assess the skills of the candidate. Students are advised to follow meticulously the
guidelines given. The serious involvement of staff members in the projects will go a long
way in increasing their rapport with the students. The department also reaps the benefits
in terms of infrastructure and development.

Slide 29- SUPPLEMENTARY TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS

Supplementary Teaching-Learning Process (STLP) is intended to supplement the

learning that takes place under the preceding three Teaching-Learning Processes. Though
the learning here is not directly related to the subjects in the syllabus, the topics are
designed in such a way that wholesome participation in these activities would help in
imbibing a number of systems and practices like competitiveness, time management
needs awareness, humanism etc. it indicates learning by self experience. In most of the
cases there is no teacher involved in teaching as in a classroom and student gains
experience outside the classroom.

Slide 30- all round student development through Aurora’s TLP

Thus we aim to achieve all round student development through our teachiong learning
process

Slide 31- Central Library

The college central library has the best library facilities with largest collection of books,
reference manuals, and hand books along with national and international journals
covering various advanced disciplines pertaining to the subjects offered by the college. It
caters to the needs of the existing courses. The library has facilities for accommodating
500 students at a time. 15 systems are available in the library to be used by students.
The institute library has Internet facility with 5 systems, put on the internet and is also a
member of the DELNET. A lot of e-learning courses and study material is maintained in
the server and is continuously updated.
Slide 32 - Placement cell
By far one of the most important facets of education in Aurora is that it is probably the
only college that lays so much importance on seeing its students through to the
threshold of a career that they rightfully deserve. It is with this mission that the center
for placements assumes utmost dedication in searching and facilitating right careers for
right individuals. This, we are able to do with the help of placement and training division
of Aurora Group consisting of a team of professionals led by director-placements. The
placement and training division takes full responsibility in organizing the data base of
students and undertaking exhaustive competency mapping exercises, and thus helping
students to be placed in prestigious companies with best pay packages ranging between
two lakhs per annum and three lakhs per annum.

Slide 35- Student counseling cell

Each department conducts at least three counseling sessions per semester for each class
by allotting a faculty counselor. The first counseling is held at the beginning of the
semester after announcing of previous semester results. Second counseling is held after
the mid term examination I and the third counseling is held two weeks before mid term
examination II. Each faculty counselor is assigned 2 counseling groups of 10 students
from each section. A standard counseling sheet is used from I year to till the end of the
course for each student.

Slide 36- Industry institute interaction cell

Better interaction between Technical institutions and industry is the need of the hour.
This will have great bearing on the Engineering Curriculum, exposure of industrial
atmosphere to engineering students and subsequent placement of young graduating
engineers in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and the
opening up of the Indian economy to the outside world, competition among industries
has become stiff. To solve their engineering problems they look up now to Engineering
Institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs
in multinational companies, by exposing them to newer technologies and engineering
methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between
industry and the academic institute.

The Institute encourages its faculty and students to interact with scientists, technicians
and with industry in all possible ways with the spirit of deriving mutual benefit. The
Institute encourages its faculty and students to interact with scientists, technicians and
with industry in all possible ways with the spirit of deriving mutual benefit.
