Read How I Started…
I Believe you too Can do The Same
The first thing I must do in this book is to appreciate you, because most people that
download e-books online never read it. You have proven that you are a success minded

person and I am ready to help you as much as I can. Before I start showing you how to
use AutoCAD in making money or advancing your career, I want you to know how I

started.

In the year 2004 when it was the norm to design with drawing boards, clutch pencils and

Rotring pen; it was uncommon to use computer to aid our designs. During that era,
AutoCAD 2000 was reigning and it was gradually gaining acceptance in higher
institutions of learning. We spent hours on a sheet of drawing due to the manual method

we were used to. Let’s not make a mistake about it; I had to start my training with the
use of pencil sketches first before going to the drawing board. I still do that today
because that is the basis of design. As time went by, I had to learn AutoCAD to improve

my speed, efficiency and accuracy in my designs. The journey of sixteen years and
counting has been filled with intrigues of learning shortcuts, learning from my
classmates, trial and error, and several methods in the process.

Things are Changing Very Fast…

In the early 2000’s you could enter higher institution of learning and start learning
AutoCAD, but it’s not so anymore. In fact, some schools would make it a requirement

for admission. To leverage on more with less, you have to learn how to use AutoCAD
very well. I can confidently tell you that I know my onions and I have gathered sufficient
experience in training myself and others in AutoCAD. I have been able to pass through
series of rigorous tests in my career. I did my 5 years undergraduate study in one of the
best universities in Nigeria, I proceeded for my Masters in 2010 and I am also a duly

registered Architect with the ARCHITECTS REGISTRATION COUNCIL OF NIGERIA.
ARCON. I have been using AutoCAD for my projects since year 2004. After graduation,
I have been involved in several projects such as residential developments, worship

centres( both Christian and Muslim), commercial developments such as skills

acquisition centres in some of our Niger Delta States, Multipurpose hall just to mention
a few.

I want to help others who would want to learn AutoCAD and become successful in their
career. In other not to assume, AutoCAD means a commercial computer aided design
(CAD) and drafting software application.

This application has aided Architecture, manufacturing, construction, engineering,

graphic design tool, 3d printing, fashion industry, industrial design tool and so on.

If you are in any of the sectors mentioned above, then you need to master AutoCAD as
a tool to improve your performance.

But you may choose not to learn AutoCAD or look for shortcuts but here
are the dangers…
If you don’t know how to use AutoCAD, you can’t work on the assignment that would be
given in class and that means failure as a student. Not only academic failure in this
sense because you won’t even be relevant with the trend of the 21 st Century which
makes your vision as a 21st Century person questionable.
Apart from that, drawing with clutch pencil will make your assignment take too long to
complete because you could be on a sheet for days and you’ve been given a deadline
which you must submit your drawings. My friend, failure doesn’t happen in a day.

Talking about the real world experience after leaving the higher institutions, you can’t
submit drawings in Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) or your state
Development Control Agency without AutoCAD. In fact, no client will listen to you with
hand drawn plans.

Why would anyone spend 5 to 7 years in school and cannot spend just 3 months to give
value to the years of academic labour?

Now let’s talk about making money…

Some Architects and engineers have already put themselves in the ugly situations I just
listed. You can make money from these people because they would happily give you
money for you to design for them using AutoCAD. For the smart under graduates
reading this, you can make money from your classmates by teaching them this
AutoCAD.
There are millions of people who need AutoCAD drawings to get their work done and
they have no idea of how to use it. Do you know you can draw for them and they would
pay for it? There are platforms such as Freelancer, Upwork or guru.com where you can
get drawing gigs worth thousands of dollars. If you would like to buy into this idea, you
can keep smiling to the bank every month while your colleagues are busy sending
application letters for employment. In fact if you wish, you can build a business around
this and promote yourself through Google and social media.

Before telling you the whole story of how this works, you need to learn AutoCAD first
and I am ready to teach you if you are interested because there is a difference between
knowing how to use AutoCAD and knowing how to make money with AutoCAD.

You cannot work with international organizations or get considered for offshore
opportunities while you are still using Stone Age approach in your drawings and your
presentations. There is a good saying I always love to tell anyone looking for
advancement and that is; if you truly want advancement, you must be prepared for it.
You can imagine someone who is dreaming of travelling to the United Kingdom and
doesn’t even have an international passport. Such a person is not prepared and you
shouldn’t be like that person.

Now here is your next step…

You can use AutoCAD to advance your career by showcasing your ideas with state of
the art presentation using AutoCAD. I can also show you how that works when you join
the training. Let’s now go straight to the first things you need to have in place before you
can be my student.

… I know what you are thinking… MONEY?. Before I even ask of money from you, you
need to pass a simple test which involves just answering these three questions.
Question number 1; do you have at least a 4 gigabyte, 64 bit dual core computer?
Question number 2; will spending at least N2, 500 on internet connection be a big deal
for you?
Question number 3; are you comfortable spending N3, 000 on your career development
by learning AutoCAD?

If all your answers are yes, then congratulations, you have passed my test and I would
be happy to show you how AutoCAD works.

… Now your next step is to

... Mind you please it’s important to note that this offer is limited to the number of
students I will be able to handle. I’m not actually looking for a crowd but only for those

who are dedicated and ready to learn. So it is extremely likely that the price will rise to
N50,000 soon. So, before I reach the point when we will have to close the doors for new
applications, just TEXT “JOIN” to 08032128339 now.

As my student, You are going to receive free AutoCAD blocks (furniture, sanitary,
landscape, cars, humans, trees e.t.c) But that’s not all, I also have some free eBooks for

you like Neufert’s Architects data, Barry’s: The Construction of Buildings, Metric Hand
Book (Part 0-28), Dictionary of Architecture and Building Construction, Building
Materials which all these books cost more than 150,000 Naira. You will be getting all

these for free by the time you get to month 3.

Before You Start Your Main Class…

…Let us talk about what is important - Ergonomics
(An integral part of our every day life)

Ergonomics is the process of designing or arranging workplaces, residences, worship

centres, commercial centres, products and systems so that they fit the people who use
them. Most people have heard of ergonomics and think it is something to do with
seating or with the design of car controls and instruments – and it is… but it is so much
more. Ergonomics applies to the design of anything that involves people – workspaces,
sports and leisure, health and safety. Ergonomics aims to improve workspaces and
environments to minimize risk of injury or harm. So as technologies change, so too does
the need to ensure that the tools we access for work, rest and play are designed for our
body’s requirements.

Ergonomics aims to create safe, comfortable and productive workspaces by bringing

human abilities and limitations into the design of a workspace, including the individual’s
body size, strength, skill, speed, sensory abilities (vision, hearing), and even attitudes.

So how does ergonomics affect our design in architecture? Let us use the example of a
one bedroom bungalow. By inserting the furniture, sanitary and having the knowledge of
the size of humans. It would greatly help us in our design.

You can see from the drawing how I was able to use the furniture arrangement, the

circulation/flow of persons and the sanitary fittings to design the spaces. AutoCAD
blocks help you to adequately appropriate space sizes needed in design. This was

through the use of AutoCAD blocks that I mentioned earlier that would be given to you,
if you register on time. For you to succeed as an Architect, you must be able to put
yourself in the shoes of the occupant of the building you are designing in your mind. Try

and have a walkthrough mentally which you can achieve with the use of combination of
spaces with lobbies that are adequate for each building type. Please take note that

functionality should be the focus of your design. For example in the design of a
multipurpose hall, for you to know the adequate size of a 1,000 seater hall, you need to
get AutoCAD block of chairs. The chairs would be placed in rows and columns with the

required spaces needed. You would just need to add the spaces for circulation and
other adjoining spaces like restrooms, stores and some offices as the case may be.

I feel like going on and on to show you more but let’s continue the rest in the full lesson.
I’ll be happy to welcome you to the program.
