Dear_______,

We have changed the new tracking system with __________to encourage positive
behaviour throughout the day. Every time _________ complies with the below tasks
________ will gain a smiley face, praise for that time period and a preferred activity. We
will be attempting to have ________ gain one smiley face for each half hour at school.
_______ may start out with only getting one or two smiley faces per day but even this is
an accomplishment that deserves praise. We ask that you sign the smiley chart each day
and recognize his good behaviour at home.

Smiley Faces will be given for the following behaviours:

 Following an Adults directions right after it is given


 Stop playing when directed and follow instructions
 Can start getting ready for recess/lunch in a set time with two reminders
 Completes 5 min task
 Sits through circle time
 Listens to a story without losing focus
 Hold an Adults hand when prompted

We ask that you try and practice these behaviours at home so he can become accustom
to them.

Preferred activities:

 playdough
 toy cars and trucks
 building blocks
 soccer
 extra gym time

*Note* This was used with a kindergarten student to help track behaviour and communicate with
home. The student was un-diagnosed but struggled with compliance. We used smiley faced stamps.
